micha with forearm crutches !! because he has MND (which causes muscle weakness) so he’d likely need a mobility aid :D
infodump below cut because i fixated so hard i researched this disorder and mobility aids to find what would best suit him
MND or motor neuron disease is a disease where the nerves that tell muscles to move get disrupted, which causes muscle weakness and muscle atrophy, and can also cause respiratory issues and impair ability to breathe. there’s no cure and it’s typically fatal. there’s many different types of MND, some affect upper body, some affect lower body, some affect both both, and other specific cases. these disorders are progressive disorders and get worse over time
and in a lore case, this means either way micha likely would’ve died, be it by medical malpractice or not. poor baby would’ve lost his ability to walk (and maybe already had) which i can’t imagine how detrimental that would be to a kid :(
so he likely would’ve needed a mobility aid had he been able to leave the hospital, and there are many different types of those. wheelchairs are used for all rounder types of things, be it fatigue, paralysis, balance, weakness, etc. canes and crutches are usually used for balance, but some crutches can be used as a more independent form of mobility in cases of fatigue or weakness. both of those options however can strain the upper body (especially wrists)
but i headcanon micha having a lower body specific type of MND, or at least his leg muscles are worse off than his arm ones (more specifically i hc him with SMA type 2 or 3) so i gave him forearm crutches! i feel like he’d want to be as independent as he could be :3
a little more rambles: i feel like the unnecessary insulin would’ve worsened his conditioned and basically ruin any progress he may have made with his muscles and any physical therapy, further messing up the neuron’s signals by flooding the bloodstream with insulin it didn’t need, causing sickness, and in turn causing his muscles to further atrophy.
sometimes people will insist a character is butch/masc and then you look at the character and they’re just fat. or muscular. or black. or indigenous. or some combination of the above.

Really though, what was that about? I don’t know is a valid answer. It communicates very clearly that the child cannot answer your question, and therefore maybe needs more help understanding the question/situation. Why do you try and push them to give an answer they don’t have? That stresses them out and it makes them feel like they’re being punished for not knowing something.
i thought i was the only one with an “i don’t know” problem because my parents made it seem it was the strangest and also most horrible thing in the world. i genuinely didn’t know and they got angry and that only blocked my thoughts more which meant i didn’t know the answer to anything else.
Also “I don’t know” is a commonly used sentence for children with ADHD/Autism. We DON’T know why we can’t do our homework. We DON’T know why we can’t eat certain foods sometimes. We DON’T know why we forgot to do a chore. It’s really distressing when you genuinely don’t know and people think you’re just lying or indifferent
