Now that you’re gone.

“And what will you do?”

Dim, muted color palette.


Wade sits alone in his dingy apartment. The ring pop lies on the nightstand beside a cracked photo frame.


Text boxes (his inner voice) mock him sarcastically, but there’s no actual dialogue. The sarcasm feels hollow, you can tell even his own head doesn’t believe it anymore.


“Now you’re all alone…”

He walks through the city, crowded but empty, everyone blurred out.


He passes a storefront, sees a cheap Polaroid camera in the window, like Vanessa’s. Flashes of her smile overlaid with the memory of her using it.


“Who’s gonna keep you warm, out there in the cold?”

He opens his apartment freezer, pulls out an untouched tub of ice cream they used to share.


He tosses it in the sink, unopened.


“And who’s gonna rescue you when you’re lost at sea?”

Visual of Wade drifting in a sensory deprivation tank or bathtub, submerged and still, eyes open under the water.


“And who’s gonna love you, if it isn’t her?”

Close-up of a wall collage of Vanessa’s notes, photos, movie tickets, all curled at the edges.


The camera pans out and shows he’s in a shrine-like room he made, not out of romance, but out of desperation.


“Never known such unhappiness…”

Rapid cuts, on beat:


Door opens.


Gun flashes.


Wade screams.


Vanessa’s face, her shocked expression frozen in time.


“Never thought it would end like this.”

Her hand reaching toward him.


The bullet casing spinning on the floor.


Wade’s hand, just barely missing hers.


“Oh, what will I do…”

Dead silence 

Wade, mask on, stares into a dirty bathroom mirror.


The mirror’s corner has a photo of him and Vanessa clipped to it with tape.


He gently adjusts it. Like it’s a ritual.

“Now that you’re gone?”

He turns his head. Looks directly into the camera (his own reflection or us)

His mask is expressionless. But the darkness behind his lenses makes it unsettling.


“Now that you’re gone?”

“Now that you’re…. now that you’re gone.”

Background grows darker.


Music grows heavier.


A soft click as he loads a pistol.


A beat of stillness then the gun to his chin.


Instrumental Montage: Suicide Attempts

Gunshot rings out but the camera follows the bullet through his head… 

Cut to him falling from a building, same body position, falling.



Montage continues in rhythm with the instrumental:


Zoo enclosure – Bite marks with chucks taken out of him but he isn’t dead.

Barrel explosion – Deadpool lights it and lays atop, the explosion cuts to static.


Drowning in a river – camera from above, lifeless body just floats back to the surface.

Lying in traffic – cars swerve, one hits him, but it’s not fatal.


Each time, he survives. But he’s less Wade and more… hollow.


Slow fade back to him, bloodied, collapsed.


Maybe he’s survived again, twitching in the wreckage after the final fall.
