the number one thing i learned this semester out of high school and in college with my friends still in high school is that like. i dont need constant affirmation that my friends like me. and im a really big fan of not having to do that for other people anymore. i genuinely think if you get too used to external validation you will never have to build up your own, and you will mistake self esteem for an inability to recognize your own wrongdoing or handle a situation calmly and maturely.

more people need to stop accepting “rejection sensitivity” as a default setting they cant switch off. i will not accept that i can’t get upset, can’t be the one being hurt, and furthermore i will not manage the emotions of someone when i try to talk to them about a problem we’re having. more of you need to stop doing the pathetic reliance on everyone else to be your mom and therapist at the same time. your friends are exhausted and unable to express themselves
