it is quite depressing when you realize how much of a monopoly one specific version of butchness holds on the queer community. If i were to offer mspec or mlm/male butches any advice it would be to familiarize yourself with queer ballroom culture. Ballroom is where butchfemme originated, it was created by black and brown queers for safety and as an alternative way of life in a cruel society. the way that they use butch and femme is so very liberating. For example there is a category called Butch which is for trans men to walk in (i’ll link a post which talks about it more) and i find that rooting myself in accurate queer history helps ease some of the pain caused by people who know nothing about their ancestors and those who gave them the right to be such open assholes on the internet about it.

I'm sad to say that the rise of fascism has been visible in my inbox for years as people become increasingly distrustful of their own bodies and pleasure. you see it in people's paranoia around becoming "porn addicts," their need for reassurance that a 24 year old isn't a predator for dating a 22 year old, their fears that they may have unwittingly committed assault by looking at another child's naked body when they were young, their insistence that consensual sex is impossible for anyone who has had a single drink or smoked a whiff of weed. people, especially young people, are doing a tremendous amount of work for fascism in terms of rigorously policing their own bodies and sexual expression, and they often don't even realize it.

It'll help you find sound bites once you get a backlog. It's not likely you will remember which episode a certain line was in. This can be good for trailers or entering competitions or applying for awards!!

It helps the all mighty algorithm have your website (yes you need a website. If you want to enter competitions and stuff get a website (and make a press kit). It can be free, it can be a carrd, it can be wordpress, I would not suggest wix as it's Israeli owned) pop up in searches.

It helps when/if you upload to youtube

And I say this as someone who hates writing transcripts. It is the one thing I would completely and utterly offload if I could (and if you know me, that's saying a lot). I do not find them fun, I do not find them enjoyable, I find them, in some ways, to be quite painful (this is where dopamine goes to die). So if there's anyone in this world who should be making excuses about why not to include transcripts it should be me! But it really is just that important.

we are looking to host a panel in the coming month for audio drama fans and creators, but we need participants! the topic for our panel will be creating compelling characters in audio dramas.

to find guests, we’d love to host them through fan recommendation, so head to this google form link and shout them out there! we would prefer it if you do not recommend yourself. that being said, feel free to recommend other creators that have inspired you!

we will ask in the google form to include the show and their character you find most compelling. it is our hope that we get to include a writer and actor from two shows.

I need you young people to know it was almost never this hot when I was a child. Millennials and Gen Xers are all nostalgic and excited about summer because it was about ten to twenty degrees cooler to experience it back then!

I cannot express to you how FAST it has gone. I grew up in a world that does not exist now. We're starting on the path to reverse it, globally. You might not know how much solar has EXPLODED in the last decade or two. It's gone from a side thing, a weirdo novelty that was just Not Viable... to whole countries investing in infrastructure. but we have to keep fighting big oil and fascism everywhere we can in order to keep on this road to a new better less scorching burning earth.
