Sometimes I speak meme to Murble. Earlier I excitedly said “BIRBS!” While looking out the window at the sunflowers and she said, “what are you looking at? I don’t know what a birb is.”

I said, “it’s like dyslexic bird.” but I feel like all the context clues are already there for birb.

Anyway it was a ladies who lunch gathering on my sunflowers earlier today.

I saw my podiatrist this morning and we were both so relieved that there aren’t any big issues with my feet after a year of big issues that we mostly talked about zucchini and sunflowers and I was measured for next year’s insoles and shoes.

For the past year or so my algorithm has been pummeling me with beautiful woven basket tutorials and willow fences. And in the back of my head I’m like but where do I get the needed materials? I would need a lot. And I find myself reading about Willow planting and harvesting. searching for farms that sell in bulk. Reading about the growing needs of willow. And then I set my phone down and went and read a book because I’m a few steps away from weaving a husband.

#this is as sporty as I get

The rest of the veggie garden is still producing. I had to implement a strong suggestion of eating a cucumber a day. I don’t have pickling supplies or knowledge or energy. Will I be planting as many cucumbers next year? Heck yes! The bees are happy. And actually so am I!

The gold finches were feasting earlier I eavespeeped them from my bedroom window. Murble got to watch them for a long time from the sunporch. And then she said, “thanks for planting sunflowers”.

I lost my last zucchini plant today. She was strong but I was too sick all of July to tend properly and was overrun by squash bugs and vine borer. I will rotate next year and plant even more host plants. I really wanted to be eating zucchini noodles all winter. Bummer. Anyway things are going pretty well otherwise. There is thunder now so Fafner insists I stay inside.
