I’m so tired of people always freaking out over animated character’s proportions!!!! Don’t get me wrong, I think they do promote negative body standards, especially for women - BUT - exaggerated proportions are ALWAYS used in animation! In fact, they’re NECESSARY!

Think about it - the eyes, mouth, and hands are the most important to convey EMOTION. There’s a reason that Mickey Mouse wears white gloves! It’s to draw the attention towards the hands and to better see their movements. Everything needs to be over-exaggerated to be understood in animation otherwise it looks less lively!

PREACH IT RYN!!!! It’s character design. If I want realistic facial proportions I’ll go outside and look at strangers. (Creepily.) Also if you get your body image opinions from watching cartoons don’t ever watch anime lol
