I will try to explain this the best I can without going too much into unnecessary detail while also making it make sense…

Thangyu is almost entirely one sided in my head. I don’t think Thanos hated Namgyu in any sense of the word (especially since Seunghyun confirmed that Thanos likes to poke fun at people and sort of ‘play’ with them in a sense) but I also think he absolutely looked down on him because of the constant Yes Man attitude.

Namgyu, as we see him throughout the show, is obsessed with Thanos (whether you see that romantically or not) and most of his actions are meant to either gain his attention or impress him in some way. ESPECIALLY in season 3, where we see him mirroring Thanos’ actions and literally imitating his speech. Namgyu is a follower to his core; always looking for someone he deems stronger and more superior to essentially protect him and make him feel less vulnerable and inferior to those he sees as beneath him (ie Minsu).

I see a lot of Thangyu writers/fans in general act like their relationship would be 100% healthy and domestic when in reality Thanos would NOT take it seriously at all (not with the intention of purposely hurting Namgyu) and probably make Namgyu borderline suicidal with all the cheating and nonsensical boyish shit.
