I mean... That's basically tradition at this point. Almost every fighting game that's at least playable has a story that's incredibly complicated, plot holes everywhere that are big enough for a character to jump through, and enough whiplash to send you to the hospital.
It's the fighting game communities way of welcoming Avatar into its ranks.
It's kind of insane how patterned my attempted love life is. I meet someone online, we hit it off, everything is awesome, we meet irl or video chat, 2 days later (almost always exactly 2 days later, I don't know why or how) they message me and say that they a) aren't ready for a relationship or b) want to focus on themselves, and then within 2 months are in a relationship with someone else.
Every. Single. Time. (Waiting to see if the most recent one does for my science results.)
I know it's me. It has to be. It's the only thing that they all have in common. And none of them owe me the answer that it's me, I know that, but it would honestly *help*, so that I'm not out here not knowing what the fuck is wrong with me.
And everyone who always tells me "Oh there's nothing wrong with you", "you'll find someone", "you're a great guy and anyone would be lucky to have you" are either in a relationship and/or don't see me romantically, or consider me their brother.
Like can I please catch a break and have someone actually fall in love with me for once? Getting too old for this.
Nah, I get this same feeling. The dating scene is hell right now.
Gonna admit that in IRL, I've never gotten past date #1. Tinder, Hinge, Bumble. Blind dates. Set ups. Different platforms, all the same patterns.
1. Spend two weeks to a month chatting and flirting. 2. Arrange for a date. 3. Pick them up, take them to dinner, have a pleasant evening, return them home. 4A. Day after: "It's not gonna work. We should stop chatting." 4B. They ghost ya.
A real, honest answer would be nice once in a while. Maybe it wouldn't, I don't know.
You're not alone in wanting a relationship, but finding the right partner to fit. Feeling envious that other people are somehow more capable of hitting the target than we are. Wondering how to get our charisma stat better. It's rough, and I get it.
It's also hard not to get cynical and think self defeating thoughts like "Standards are so warped these days", "They just wanted a free meal", "Online Dating has made people so picky", "Maybe the problem is me", etc.
The phrase "Gotta kiss a thousand frogs before you find your prince" comes to mind, and it's honestly more prevalent than ever. The only thing I can say is to stay strong, and keep holding onto hope that we will find someone who will want to go to "day 3" or "date #2" with us.

like i quite literally have never been more passionate about anything than i am about the human race’s invariable desire to tell stories and the fact that we always find a way to do it, through spoken language and written language and body language and visual art and theater and poetry and oral tradition and a million other things. there are so many things we take for granted about the human experience that we never stop to think about but i really want you to take a step back and consider how fucking amazing it is that our need to tell stories transcends all boundaries of time and geography and borders and language. it is one of very few things that is legitimately intrinsic to human nature and i will never stop being completely in awe of humanity for that.
Had a conversation with someone in a Warframe lobby. They had asked in the question channel if anyone could experience everything in the world. I said "No. But that's what stories are for. If you get a hundred people who have seen %1 of everything into a big room, then you'll be able to share stories about everything."
We then started talking about personal experiences about local attractions around where we lived. Them talking about weird, supernatural events in their town, me talking about river riding in an inflatable with a second that had a cooler.
It was fun.
