TF2 Sniper Scout Headcanons

Scout thought that if he didn’t ’come out’ then he wasn’t gay. A tragic misunderstanding that stood between him and happiness for a good few years
He didn’t want to like Sniper as much as he did. And he certainly didn’t realize the extent of his liking
Sniper was so cool and tough and rugged and his hands were always a little dirty and he starched his work pants and-
His enamored state of mind was expressed through teasing and physically fighting Sniper. Which was pretty normal for Scout, but Snipes did notice how avoidant the runner was
It didn’t start out like this, but over time Sniper noticed how if Scout wasn’t preforming, he was hiding
Poor guy was a bit confused as to why Scout seemed so clingy- but then immediately fled once things settled down and they were in the quiet
At first Sniper worried he was just some weirdo freak (insecure boy core) but then he realized that maybe Scout was just gay and not cool with it
Sniper used to be that way but the outback brings out the humanity in people. Scout, however, was from 1940’s Boston. Brother was NOT gonna go gay
But it is not a choice 🙏🏻
Sniper started testing the water and being a little bit cruel
They started to brush up against each other. At first Scout tensed up and turn beet red, maybe stammering something before darting off or falling quiet, but then he started doing it back
Running into each other, sitting closer. Once when Scout took his hat off he noticed Sniper looking at his hair. Did Sniper notice him try to fix it?
The runner starts obsessing. Not over Sniper (his feelings were too real to engage with that much) but with the possibility he presented
Being with a man. A man he wanted.
He would watch the sweat on Sniper’s neck. The strain of his arms climbing up and down from his sniper’s stand
Scout noticed the black mark on Sniper’s thumb from reloading his rifle too quickly. And by then, he was helplessly smitten. After a few years of working together, Scout can’t ignore OR surpress his feelings any longer
One day, alone in the camper van (Scout began visiting at some point), the air gets that tension in it like the sky before rain. Anticipatory, and something like hunger
The line has been flirted with in the past, even tested. But today it is crossed by Scout staring as Sniper drinks from his cup, and not looking away when Sniper leans in
The first kiss is tentative and the next is desperate. The dam breaks between them and they are grabbing at one another wildly
Sniper takes the lead (it’s quickly given- like Scout doesn’t trust himself with something so precious) and is rather animalistic. He tries to hold back in the beginning since he thinks it’s the proper thing to do in the beginning
Professionals have standards. Scout isn’t a professional, and so formality goes out the window
Scout clings to him and melts. And it’s sighing, messy hair, and wet teeth. Scout can’t breathe after and Sniper is completely fried by the end of it (though very pleased with himself)
