Here’s the second reference sheet for Operation S.O.N.S. I honestly wasn’t expecting to finish this in a single day. Go me!

Anyways, here’s the second half of the lore you’ve been waiting for. In this AU, Leo fails to save his brothers Mikey and Raph, losing his right eye and his right arm in the process. He’s far different from his future canon counterpart and undeniably more cruel, as blames himself so much to the point he projects his feelings onto others, especially Donnie.

Donnie went through a similar self loathing experience for sometime until he got the idea to put Operation S.O.N.S into action. He saw Leo as unfit to lead as his brother’s cruelty knew no bounds. They needed real saviors. While he loves his creations dearly, their mere existence was surely out of desperation to end the war.

Thanks to those who participated in the poll this week! I’ll work on the reference sheet for Leo and Donnie soon, as well as the extra gear if I have time!

I’ve actually had these two characters for a very long time, but I’ve never really liked their old designs. I’m also working to improve my art style a bit to produce higher quality art for you guys.

The new AU is called ‘Operation S.O.N.S.’ The twins’ names are Delta and Digit Hamato, and they are artificial clones of Donnie. I don’t plan on making this a full comic story, but I figured you guys should know about it.

Anyways, the AU is about a post-apocalyptic future where Mikey and Raph are killed in the first Kraang war, but Leo and Donnie survive. The twins weren’t exactly made out of love, but out of desperation to put an end to this nightmare once and for all.

Update: I’ve finally finished the lore for the twins.

Delta and Digit are fully aware why they were created and aim to fulfill their purpose to the best of their abilities. They have a great relationship with Donnie, but not Leo.

Delta picked up on his love for drawing when he was just three years old. While Leo discouraged it, Donnie recommended it be done in secret. He loves his family to the max, especially his twin brother. Despite being told that he wouldn’t make it in the world if he always saw on the bright side, he didn’t let that determine his way of thinking.

Digit used to be extremely talkative when he was younger, but that mostly landed him in trouble with Leo. Nowadays, he doesn’t talk much and tries to remain professional for his uncle’s sake. When he isn’t training, he’s putting up with his clingy brother or inventing new tech with his father.

(Got lazy with the last part lol. P.S, this interaction is non-canon).

Raph: 😥

Donnie: Way to go Leo. You made him cry.

Leo: I—WHAT?! I didn’t—I didn’t think he was going to cry!

(Hint: The reason Minty Blue is crying is because he’s never interacted with anyone (in person) besides his mom, and wasn’t taught to properly socialize with people his age growing up. He prefers to talk to people online since he’s more accustomed to it and can easily pass himself off as a “persona”.

The timeline:

Meet the next gen Disaster Twins: Diamond Blue and Royal Blue! (4) They’re both from an alternative timeline where young adult Minty Blue decides to sneak into an abandoned factory and ends up discovering two freshly mutated hatchings lying near a damaged pipe, who he eventually adpots as his own. While Martha was rightfully furious at her son for sneaking into places he shouldn't be, she eventually gets over it and accepts her role as "Gran-Gran".

Diamond Blue is super optimistic and outgoing, while his sister Royal is more asocial and extremely timid. They get along with their grandmother really well and even learn how Minty Blue became a part of her life.

Minty Blue still uses the internet, although the twins don’t understand it just yet. Nevertheless, they support his passion and never really question the fourth wall breaks.
