they/them | 20 I'll throw art on here of whatever media I like at a point in time Currently struggling in colleg so I may slow down ~~ I tend to not interact much cause anxiety/nervousness (yea, even online); it's not a slight against anyone! I just gotta get better at it
What do you mean I have to pay FULL PRICE for a completely DIGITAL textbook that I only have access to/own for 4 MONTHS. THIS SHIT IS 175 DOLLARS Fuck you .
Can’t even attempt to pirate this shit because all the assignments are built into the textbook as it is interactive, so you gotta make an account with the website & buy the book in order to do the classwork, where’ll it’ll then sync to the actual Canvas course grades.

Lunar rover Beachcomber! Since it pretty much is just a space dune buggy. He's orange now.
(I forgot the autobrand)
Fun fact: The LRV's could reach a blazing 12 mph, operated on a 1hp battery that could last 78 hours. They had a range of around 57 miles.
Admittedly this design is kinda lazy and doesn't really make sense without mass shifting (plus the rover & human size comparison should be a bit smaller. I need to make the wheels bigger as well on Beachcomber. )The LRV is just so thin and I didn't wanna make Beachcomber like really really small to make up for it.
I was specifically using the "Qualification Test Unit" LRV that the Smithsonian has for reference here as a part of me doing Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum redesigns. The LRV's seem to have a little color variation across them, so it depends on which.
Not so surprisingly I have no other grounders planned for a NASM redesign as there isn't exactly many ground vehicles in an air and space museum.
This is the list I meant in my previous post btw (copy pasted from my notes).
How many transformers can you fit in one museum??? A lot, imo. 16 (as of now, there's definitely potential for more, just would be farther and farther removed from canon alt modes)
_____
NASM (potential) Redesigns
- [x] Skyfire - Space Shuttle (Discovery)
* Skylynx - SR-71 Blackbird
* Soundwave (Prime) - MQ-1L Predator A
* Silverbolt - Concorde (F-BVFA)
* Fireflight - F-4S Phantom II
* Thrust (Armada) - F-14 Tomcat
* Starscream - F/A-18(C) Hornet (Blue Angels) Or F-15C
* Thundercracker - F-105 Thunderchief or Republic P-47D-30-RA Thunderbolt
- [x] Incinerator (2007 toy)- Bell XV-15 TRRA (Tilt Rotor Research Aircraft) (Predecessor to V-22 Osprey)
* Vortex - Bell UH-1 "Huey" (replaced by black hawk)
* Blackout - Bell AH-1F Cobra
* Blades - Bell-H13J(lookalike)

** the National Air and Space Museum is actually two buildings, Beachcomber would be in DC rather than Chantilly like the rest of these guys. If i ever make this a very cracky AU.
Also, if I do make this a cracky AU rather than just an excuse for redesigns and talking about cool vehicles: The Smithsonian has a shard of the AllSpark. Technically. Which I think would be fun to play with taken literally (though it is in storage now).
Said i'd post Discovery Skyfire's ref after I cleaned it a little and then I immediately did not do that BUT it is here now. Not really clean tho, there's more notes. I'll prob come back to it again to clean it up for real.
Didn't add a note pointing it out in the ref BUT i find it important: Discovery has a "teardrop" of black tiles under its right side cabin window, for whatever reason, and is the only shuttle that has this. It's colored here, just not highlighted and pointed out.
Anyways spreading my space shuttle skyfire propaganda cause I love the Smithsonian air and space museum (I have a list of characters and alt modes that are in the museum OR have something adjacent to a canon alt mode in there for redesigns) and will forever be miffed that Jetfire in ROTF was the SR-71 and not. Enterprise. which was literally right behind it. sob
My submissions for FIGE's farewell zine! (can be found here, everyone did a fantastic job go look.) I absolutely loved FIGE and am sad to see it go, but it is on a high note and it got me involved in zines in the first place, which I am incredibly grateful to Tag for.
I've been wanting to do something like this (aka yapping about vehicles under the thin guise of transformers) for a long while, and the final zine finally pushed me to. So, expect more yapping from me. Blame ADHD for not doing it much much sooner (seriously, got back into transformers this last year (?) initially because vehicles are interesting).
(Actually made the design for Skyfire like a month before using it here but just never posted it, so I'll post that ref later once I clean it up a little more

alternate mainly B&W version (aka I couldn't decide which one):
Been loving dithering but big con: I save my images as pngs and it will absolutely blow up file sizes the more colors there are (since its a brush and not actually dithered in post it happens), so I'll likely end up compressing them separately before posting. B&W + red img? 8 mb. Other? 13mb (before compression).

Saw @tigirl-and-co ‘s post showing the rumble and frenzy earphones, had to doodle them, and got carried away with making roundwave and co. (Though admittedly they don’t fit as well)
Y'all i need to talk about this tf AU i waana make its been in my head for like 2-3 weeks. this is just disorganized yapping btw (also kinda depressing AU sorry). I'll make something more organized if I continue developing it.
Cybertronian lives and history being on a completely different scale than human lives and history bla bla so a couple hundred year difference in arriving to earth doesn't seem (initially) as drastic as it is
Post-apocalypse of some kind, whatever the apocalypse actually was isn't what I'm focusing on tho (though nuclear war is what I've leaned towards, related). Humans are either extinct or very close to it.
I don't have a good segue: The actual focus of the AU are human messages of varying forms (and discovering more about humanity from its aftermath). Leftover and eroded monuments, innocuous text that was part of everyday life, archives destroyed and/or actively decaying, and! messages intended for anyone and to be understood by everyone, human or not.
ALOT of yapping about specific exqmples below:
The W.I.P.P. (Waste Isolation Pilot Plant) Is what gave me this idea initially, specifically the Sandia report that proposed long term (10,000 years minimum due to the radioactive waste halflife) warning messages that could be universally understood. It is a very interesting read, report pdf here.
^ from the report (though this is a color version i found, the report I linked is a b&w digital scan of the whole thing and these artworks don't read nearly as well in it), this is also the one I've seen the most of online, but there were more proposed! (This one is landscape of thorns)
A big thing about the proposed marker systems for the W.I.P.P. is that an understanding of our current languages and symbols (ie. skull and crossbones or the radioactive symbol) can't be assumed when talking about this wide a time frame, though they are still included in some smaller markers and messages. Defense in excess, so if one message doesn't hit the mark initially, others can fill in the details and give clues to as what that marker you initially didn't understand is getting at.
I should've explained what the WIPP is: its a storage area for nuclear waste created from the US making nuclear weapons* in new mexico, 2,150 ft below ground is where the waste is actually stored.
* i gotta double check this tbf in terms of them being a by product of making nuclear weapons and not smth else, but i'm pretty sure i read that's what it is from
So the giant ass physical markers are to mark the area directly above the hella radioactive storage room, and make it hard to do ANYTHING above it.
No drilling (especially), no farming, no living and settling down in the area. They're meant to be uncomfortable and evoke harm (hence a lot of spikes/thorns being used), which is more universal than our current languages and symbols. they're not the actual danger, just marking it and letting it be known.
Although if is definitely an exception to a lot of other famous long lasting messages imo, i'm not knowledgeable enough atm to say that confidently. Its first and foremost goal isn't to document (although it definitely does do that), it isn't to celebrate or commemorate, it is to make you aware something manmade is there, and that the something is dangerous and deadly.
Related:
Anyways yea the WIPP's various proposed marker systems and their individual markers are really interesting, I could go on but i have another example i wanna talk a little about.
I need to read up on it again cause it been a while and I forgot the name but satellites are definitely one of the longest landing man made things we have, specifically ones in higher orbits. I forgot the name I'll have to find it again, but there's a satellite in a high orbit (like past the graveyard orbit i think) that has a similar plaque/disc that the voyagers,pioneers 10 & 11, and new horizons had.
I'd love to include the interstellar* (*not technically) space probes but they're so far and they're so fast. Maybe some transformer runs into one in space somehow with the infinitesimal odds and finds earth that way, since the voyager golden discs have a map to Earth practically, ntm the contents of the actual record(pictures and a song if i remember right, i forgot how many pics but its mostly humans, like "this is us!", or was) .
Record for ref, left side: bottom left is the "map" detailing the location of Earth.
I'll read up on it again if anyone wants more info on the record and the efforts to make it literally universally understandable, i forgot too much and can't explain it well now.
Anyways enough yapping for now sorry for the numerous typos, i just had to talk about it. Like i said at the beginning I'll make a proper organized post if I continue to develop it. Ty bye!
