Rocky: He's wonderful, Skies. He did everything he could to save our worlds. To save me. He's funny, brilliant, kind- oh 🎶 he's so kind. He's already making lesson plans if they agree to let him teach children here. He's sick as fuck and he still refuses to 'be a freeloader', whatever the hell that means.

Adrian: How long have you been in love with him?

Rocky: Do you remember me telling you about us making the chain for fishing? He was telling me stories and teaching me about human technology...and I-...don't judge me, my song, but I thought to myself 'it would be so easy to steal him'...I'm such a shitty friend.

Both Adrian and Rocky travel back before the ship launch, pretending to be humans. They get put on the project and weasel their way into meeting grace, who also remembers them.

Rocky practically runs to wrangle Grace into his arms, who's laughing. Adrian is much more calmer in their approach but still go in for the hug.

First thing on Rocky's mind, his hands on Grace's waist, is that he's too skinny. It instantly reminds him of the trip back to Erid, Grace slowly starting to death with nothing he can do.

But he can do something here!

Rocky practically works like clockwork to steal Grace from work. It comes to the point people start to actually realize how much that Grace WAS missing meals due to working so much. Rocky doesn't care though, he's here to take care now.

Whenever Rocky is too busy Adrian makes their appearance, and they're much more forceful about it though. Compared to Rocky's gentle guiding hands and compliments they just come in and roll Grace's chair back. They'll sit on his desk or pick him up from the back of his shirts.

Nobody really stops it cause it looks like Grace is right where he wants to be.

Rocky: Grace and Rocky sleep together. Grace: No, that's not what happened. Rocky: Yes it did. Grace: Well, I mean- Rocky: Grace fist my bump. Grace: ROCKY! Rocky: But Grace said Rocky and Grace clock bros.

grace is overjoyed because an eridian that isn't on his biodome team/one of rocky or adrians friends wanted to talk to him!

rocky is seething, how dare this usurper disturb the peace of his relationship!(whether or not grace is dating rocky and/or adrian at this point isn't important) rocky stomps back to his workshop and immediately starts making a necklace for grace inscribed with the words : property of rocky&adrian, to show his claim over grace.

so when rocky finds out the word "grace" also means mercy, unmerited favour, and not to mention saving grace — a redeeming factor. grace was rockys redemption, he was the one who saved rocky, he gave rocky the solution to the dying sun, he turned back for him.

grace was rockys message of mercy sent by the universe itself.

Also the dynamic of “dad and the cat he never wanted” where Rocky is the dad and Simon’s the cat.
