Literary publications should reformat their system and email rejections/acceptances.

Literary publications are acting on the following assumptions:
1. The majority of writers have bank accounts.
2. The majority of writer's have a debit/credit card.
3. That the cost of obtaining materials needed to create a paper submission is actually $3.00, meaning they aren't able to obtain paper/envelopes and/or postage at low to no cost.
4. Paper submissions are bad for the environment
This is not a statement for or against online submissions. But here is a problem; I paid a submission fee using my debit card. Due to a banking error, I incurred overdraft fees. My 3.00 dollars ballooned to $80. I no longer use banks and prefer cash transactions.
5. The cost of a prepaid debit card would actually push the online fee cost into the 7 dollar range.
I am, however, arguing the assistance of journals to email responses to help offset mailed submissions. Publications which are online, submissions fee only make me sad.
