Prayer

O Spirit,

Make me one with Thee.

All Prophets Proclaim That God Must Be Found Within

Jesus taught that the greatest commandment is to love God “with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength.” Christ’s apostle St.Paul summarized that teaching in the words, “Pray without ceasing.” Buddha taught, “Meditate on God.” Bhagavan Krishna proclaimed, “He attains the Supreme Effulgent Lord, O Arjuna! whose mind, stabilized by yoga, is immovably fixed on the thought of Him.” Zoroaster and all prophets of true religions gave the same teaching....The proof of the existence of God as Proclaimed by the great ones is not in books, nor in the words of others. It is within yourself.

In the temple of silence I discover Thine altar of peace. On the altar of peace I find Thine ever new joy.

The Great Spirit of God - For Those Who Think Him Near, He is Ever Near

He is nearer than the nearest, dearer than the dearest. Just behind the words of your speech, just behind your thoughts, just behind the love of your heart, just behind your will, just behind your sense of I-ness, is the great spirit of God. For those who think Him far away, He is far away; but for those who think Him near, He is ever near. The Bhagavad-Gita says, “He who perceives Me everywhere, and beholds everything in Me, never loses sight of Me, nor do I ever lose sight of him.” The Lord never fails us.

In this soul there is no more interior pain and no more dryness, but only a sweet and constant joy. Should she for a short time be less attentive to the presence of God, he himself immediately awakens her. He works to bring her to complete perfection and imparts his doctrines in a completely hidden way in the midst of such a deep peace that it reminds me of the building of Solomon’s temple. Actually, the soul becomes the temple of God where only God alone and the soul mutually delight in each other in greatest quiet.
