the fascinating thing about jeremy irons is that the whole "it's not incest between men" take is actually about gay marriage and what he means is that he thinks incest laws only apply because of the risk of inbreeding and they shouldn't apply to men because, in his own words, men can't breed ie with each other because they don't have wombs (which he also thinks is their greatest disadvantage) and so if gay marriage is legalized a father could marry his son FOR tax evasion purposes. like this is not garden variety homophobia, this is a completely unique line of thought and he may very well be the only person who thinks like this. which is fascinating. how did he get there? does he believe elliot and beverly mantle would marry each other for tax evasion reasons?
