Erisol Week 2026 is just two weeks away guys!! August 1st - August 7th for a week of Erisol summer fun!!

The 13th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 13th August 2026.

It’s short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.

If you think you might have friends and followers who’d be interested, please do reblog this blog post, and share the survey URL by email or at AFK social groups or on other social networks. Every share is extremely helpful!

We just hit 12,000 responses! 😁🎉

This is a few thousand fewer than usual by this stage, and I'm not sad about it because 12,000 is SO MANY. I do have some theories.

I have been busy! I have had some important life admin, and also I've been trying to give more time to social stuff during the Gender Census just to avoid the hyperfocus downsides.

The new survey provider (Tally) is an LLM-filled façade of work displacement that I've had to pour my scarce time and energy into mitigating after the point-of-no-return and I'm a bit worried about the fallout regarding data quality and also quantity.

Bit stressed about that second one!!!!

BUT the survey is going, and as always the responses are epic and fascinating, and the more the merrier. I am hoping that I've run into all the problems I'm going to run into and done everything I can about them, and now I will be free to concentrate on promotion again.

Context: the reason this post was written is because screenshots have been leaked from the Official Homestuck Discord server showing that they are probably responsible for getting the unofficial server taken down, or at least conspired to do so. It is also clear that they have been attempting to mass report /r/homestuck and two other subreddits since February in an attempt to get them taken down too. There are a few other things shown in these screenshots which are immediately disturbing. We believe this to be a continuation of a pattern of behavior of legal intimidation and malicious interference towards Homestuck community spaces and members.

Andrew Hussie has a history of being litigious and over-controlling, with one example being forbidding art commissions based on Homestuck (which Vibri has since lied about, saying Hussie never wanted this to happen). This has escalated since the end of the comic into seeking total control over the fandom

As of 2026, they have begun discussing the weaponization of US police reports to silence fans who are not anonymous.

First of all, I apologize for being unable to bring the 2025 edition of EriSol week. With the years I've come to have increased responsibilities in my personal life, and I decided to distance myself from the overall Homestuck fandom for a while too. My interest has slowly returned, but this never affected my intention to run this event and others. I am ready to return and prepare more events for every Eridan and Sollux fan.

This bring us to the important part, the future of EriSol Week.

I've been approached by other erisol fans who also want to keep this event going. They will help me bring the event back to life, turning it into a collaborative project. Soon there will be news, and I hope you'll be there to see it. I'd like to shoutout Mod Makku, who whill help me with posting from now on.
