My favorite way to account for the timeline discrepancy between PHM and Iron Lung (with the whole colonizing Mars in 1992 situation) is that it was a top secret project. Grace is still confused by that because he was working on a top secret space project and the sun dimming would impact Mars a lot faster.

But! Stratt and anyone on the Hail Mary team who already knew about Mars kept it secret, because bringing them back was not feasible. It was going to be more months to feed on an already dying world. They'd just be bringing people from one apocalypse to another. The best they could do for them was to send them some enriched astrophage, the means to breed more, and a few spin drives as generators to replace their now (or soon to be) useless solar panels.

How many preservatives and forever chemicals are in the food on the Hail Mary?

Like they knew this was a suicide mission and they wanted to keep the astronauts nourished but they didn't necessarily need to keep them healthy long term. In the movie its a lot of ramen and high shelf life food, but in the book he's eating all kinds of stuff like breakfast burritos and shit.

I love pictures of book Rocky in his little sweater, but I think we don't show enough love to movie Rocky's fit. It's more like a toolbelt or maybe overalls with nothing under. It blends in with his coloring and he's not always wearing it so it's not very noticable but it's so cute 🥺
