Sacrifice for human kind

Bloodymary but Simon is unconvinced that the stars are still there. He shows up on this space station with like one guy and his pet rock and neither of them know about the quiet rapture and he's just like "well yeah, you don't have contact with anyone out here. Sorry to break the bad news to you."

And they try to tell him like "look there's stars out this window" and he's like "yeah, because the light is still traveling to your eyes. I didn't get it at first either"

So they tell him about Tau Ceti and how they were just there but he just doesn't believe them.

It doesn't help that any ship logs or photos they have are from like 300 years ago from Simon's POV. They show him photos of Tau Ceti like "yeah look at the date we took this last year" and he's like "no that's from forever ago, you can't trick me"

Lowkey want to write a fic where Ava got the black box and the data from it and learned what caused the Quiet Rapture. The God of the iron lung universe transports her through time and space to Earth in 20XX when Eva is on trial for the crimes she committed for Project Hail Mary. Ava is lost and confused by this world that she's found herself in, and as she's piecing it together, she sees the trial playing out on television.

Ava figures out two things, first that she's been sent to the distant past, and second, that Eva is the only one who can help her prevent the Quiet Rapture from happening in the future. She sees herself in Eva, someone who was forced to do terrible things for the small hope that she could save humanity. She writes to Eva in prison and to her surprise she gets a reply.

They slowly fall in love through letters and then Ava helps her break out of prison so that she can see Project Hail Mary through (like at the end of the movie) and they can start to work on preventing the Quiet Rapture.

Thinking about Simon showing up on the Hail Mary before Grace remembers he didn’t volunteer.

So Grace hears Simon’s story and is way more upset about it than he would have expected. Simon was very brave to do something so dangerous with no training, but they lied to him again and again. He was promised his freedom then left to die. Grace thinks about how at least he knew this was a one way trip when he signed up for it.

Later, when Grace remembers what really happened, he feels intense shame. Because he didn’t knew he was a coward and now he has to admit that to Simon. Will Simon think less of him for wanting to save himself over all of humanity? Everyone back on Earth did.

One thing that constantly bothers me in most bloodymary fics where they find Simon in space in the sub is how did he get out??? In most that I’ve seen (especially comics) the main predicament is how did he get in there and also HOW DO I GET IN THERE but my question is how do you get him out SHOW ME PLS

The vacume of space is deadly it boils your blood and suffocates you I know Simon could have gotten quite a due upgrades from the ocean but that doesn’t mean he’s immune to EXPLODING

Why not show the predicament of wtfff how do we not kill him if hese not already dead like tunnel with rock and connect it to the Hail Mary??? Like WHAT

There is so many comics with grace in a suit scoping Simon up out of the sub and that would fucking kill him
