reblogging a post that says âdo it scaredâ vs actually doing it scared
the ipad brothers. they're rotting.
I just want a fic where everyone is all âwhy is Dr Grace so grumpy today? Heâs normally so sweetâ and Stratt goes to inspect him for like 5 minutes before grabbing scissors, snipping the tag out of the back of his shirt carefully enough not to leave one of those itchy lines behind, and then heâs a freaking sweetheart again for the rest of the day. Like the princess and the pea. And for some reason only her people watching abilities could figure out why.
Carl probably could have figured it out too, but he canât be glued to Graceâs side 100% of the time lol.

âso you like criminals?â I LIKE THE RIGHT TO A FAIR TRIAL.
I like criminals, I'm pretty sure most people have committed at least a few crimes in their lifetime. Being caught up in the wheels of the justice system doesn't move you into a new category of ontologically evil sub-person. Criminals are your friends and neighbours.
Write that one-shot. Those 3 chapters will be the best 10 chapters you ever wrote

Drive (2011) dir. Nicolas Winding Refn
this was funnier in my head but here's a doodle anyways
i know their universes are separate but mark watney randomly picking up a hobby of intensely following a niche branch of microbiology while he was recovering from the mars debacle would be so him
random thoughts at 4am had me thinking about how useful he'd be to the project because of his outside the box thinking and creativity
stratt WOULD send an international icon who survived on a planet alone back up into space no questions asked
maybe this is not my place to say because I am monolingual, and I'm sure it's part of a larger, more nuanced discussion about visibility and accessibility on the internet, but I think it'd be cool if people posted in their native languages more instead of in english. I see people do it way more on other platforms than on tumblr which is almost exclusively in english

There are lots of reasons why fandom is "quieter" now than it used to be. Some theories are more compelling to me than others, and they all have a different scale of impact. We'll never know for sure, of course, but I like to think about it. Thus, this poll.
Of the list below, which reason do you find most compelling or do you think had the biggest impact?
New entrants to fandom don't know the old ways
fandom olds didn't teach the newcomers how to fandom
covid/surge in fandom due to quarantine and lockdowns
"antis" and other harassment campaigns against creators
creators posting complaints about comments (people worry about commenting wrong)
rise of discord popularity - fandom is walled off from each other
tumblr porn ban and other reasons people left the site
capitalism turning fandom into a passive "view and move on" commodity
rules from social media impacting fan culture (eg. don't comment on old posts)
general state of the world / burnout
social anxieties in an increasingly complex online culture
"surveillance state" worries and not wanting to be perceived
This is an incomplete list, so if your most compelling reason isn't listed, feel free to add it in the notes.
