Judson smiled. Clearly deliberating it before shrugging and gesturing back to his car. “I’m always down for impromptu trips. I just gotta text Patch to meet us there.” 

“And it can only be if I can drive. I swear I thought my trunk would have exploded a thousand times by now. There’s no way I’m leaving my goods unwatched.”

“Yes!” Jem started towards the passenger side, stopped at his comment of exploding cars. “Were you seriously working while on vacation? That’s so lame.”

“Boring people gamble too,”

“No it wasn’t,” he downed the rest of his whiskey and signalled for another, “All I was saying is when was the last time Gendry even stepped foot in here? And don’t call me old,”

“Not with century and a half old money.”

“Have you met the people in this town?” he asked, raising an eyebrow at her

Averill paused, “He probably wouldn’t notice if he did…..but he’s also not much of a gambler, leave the old man out of it,” 

“Yeah, and any of them that are old enough to have thought about saving the money are usually high rollers or boring.”

Judson rolled his eyes and saluted back with his middle finger. “I haven’t even locked my car yet. Maybe in the next 3 to 5 business days.”

“Are you serious? We could play hookie if you aren’t up for it. This new guy just started working at SP...”

“There a plenty of people in this town crazy enough to hoard money that long,”

“Sure, but there’s not a lot who would then spend it on a low roller game of black jack...”
