Look, even though I used to love Evangelyne and considered her iconic, I absolutely don't understand why she's considered a "written" character, even in the first season. And that the authors "spoiled" it. I still like her appearance and the occasional comments, but unfortunately, now I can't really say what her dreams, feelings, and goals were. She was always intended as a prize for Percedal. I honestly laughed when Eva told Cleo in season two that she had to protect her. And at what point did Cleo even know about this while she was in the barracks?
