Do you ever get wildly frustrated that you'll never be able to truly experience how, like, a horse sees the world. Or a rabbit. Or a bird of some kind. No amount of image manipulation will truly do it, it will only ever be a crude facsimile. Someone should really do something about this.

Always thinking about how birds see a wider light spectrum than we can and I am not even capable of imagining how that would look because my brain doesn’t even have the bandwidth to imagine colors which my eyes have never once perceived

that drove me to distraction when I was doing colorimetry during my masters, they should find a way to directly trip the nerves in my eyes in just the right way to let me see those colours at least once so I know what I'm missing

People joke about shrimp colours but for real, it would probably be utterly mind blowing suddenly being able to perceive things like magnetic fields or ultraviolet light. Hell, even just even just having a wider field of vision would be damn impressive. Imagine having near 360 degree view and no blind spots like some animals

did a bit of driving through the state of georgia today and wound up driving through a small town that i later discovered was called newborn, which is an odd name but doesn’t technically have anything wrong with it, except for the fact that i nearly gave myself whiplash doing a double-take at a building sign advertising NEWBORN TAXIDERMY
