In theory, maybe I get the “we’re all just playing with barbies, they’re fictional characters, no interpretation is incorrect because it’s an interpretation” argument. But actually no, not all takes are equally valid. Framing something as an interpretation doesn’t mean it inherently has merit. Some takes are completely incorrect and betray a fundamental misunderstanding of the source material. They just aren’t a reason to harass people or send death threats

It is funny to joke about Sam and Bucky being in a divorce era, but I think that the funnier option is Sam being decently upset with Bucky and Bucky thinking it's completely over for them.

I feel like people sleep on just how fucked up KakaNaru can get. Like, there's the obvious: fourteen-year age difference, student-teacher, etc... But what about the rest? Sleeping with the boy who should have been as close to a younger brother as you were ever going to get, if things hadn't gone so terribly wrong. Your student/teacher and your subordinate/commanding officer in the military dictatorship you both live in and serve. Fucking the man who was supposed to teach you how to kill, but seemed so uninterested in you that he dropped you in the chuunin exams without warning and then handed you over to another teacher (he was never uninterested.) You love him anyway. You've both been indoctrinated to do anything in service of the village (he's the one who indoctrinated you.) Even in ninja-magic world, your friends would at minimum give you a side eye for your relationship. Are ninja even cool with you being gay? Let alone doing the equivalent of growing up to marry your middle school teacher/marry your student. He's the most dangerous man you know. Both of you have teetered on the brink of being perfectly alone in the world. You love him.

I think my real point here is that if anyone should be calling each other "nii-san" and "otouto" in bed it should be KakaNaru. Jiraiya has definitely written Icha Icha StepSister and Kakashi has definitely read it. Naruto should realize he's into that, make fun of him for it, and then be the one to start doing it while they're having sex. Kakashi should laugh and go along with it, secretly be HUGELY into it, and then continue treating Naruto as some combination of lover/younger brother in all other aspects of their relationship completely uncritically. Sasuke thinks they're freaks. Sakura is also into it.

uh oh i’m thinking about handler sam x asset bucky again

bucky on the run in civil war and not being able to take care of himself without a handler to guide him, but then he meets sam and he latches onto him like a baby duckling

nat notices his weird behavior around sam (and when sam isn’t around) so she pulls sam aside and tries to quietly explain things to him. afterwards, sam confronts bucky about it and bucky is just like, “yes, you are my handler,” and blinks his long pretty lashes
