Ben tilted his head a little. He started to look around the room as if the answer existed somewhere within the four walls. Rey watched him open his mouth to speak, only to shut it again seconds later. He took a deep, unsteady breath, and tried again.

“Tw—” Ben attempted, barely audible. 

Rey’s eyebrows shot up. Kylo Ren was thirty-six years old.

Whatever Ben was about to say, it was wholly incorrect. He’d lost years of his life. Rey gave him a patient, reassuring smile after wiping the obvious shock off her face. “Take your time,” she said softly. The smile he gave her back was sweet—tentative, just like everything else he did.

“Twenty-five,” Ben finally managed.
