Chi Cheng leaned against the open door frame to his mate’s office at the clinic. He was going to knock but saw that Wu Suowei had his headphones on. Instead of being at his desk, his alpha was sitting at his coffee table with multiple folders open and sprawled out. Wu Suowei had already sheeded his single breasted baltic blue Prada suit jacket. The suit Chi Cheng was a hundred percent correct fit his mate like a glove. Wu Suowei was left in the white button down with the sleeves rolled up revealing the two serpent tattoos that coiled around his forearms. 

His mate was a work of art that made his fingers ache to touch his warm skin. Without a reason to stop himself he pushed himself off the door frame, closing the door behind himself, then sauntered over to his alpha. His mouth watered at the sweet scent of Wu Suowei. “Baby.” He leaned over the back of the couch, curling his finger around the band of the headphones then slipped it free from the alpha’s head. 

“Hey, I’m alm-” Wu Suowei went to scold him. 

“You're done for the night.” Chi Cheng stopped him, peering to see what the alpha was really looking at. It made a hidden place deep in his heart ache when he realized it was the different reports for Shen Wenlang and the s-class alpha’s pup. 

“I have to get Meling to-” Wu Suowei immediately buckled, reaching for his headphones. 

“No.” Chi Cheng tossed the headphones, uncaring about them breaking. He’d easily bought his mate another one. “You won’t. I sent her home. It’s almost ten. You missed our dinner.” 

“I didn’t…it wasn’t on purpose.” Wu Suowei swallowed hard while he looked over his shoulder over at his work. 

“I know, baby.” Chi Cheng stepped around so that he could curl his finger under the alpha’s chin to tilt it up so he could properly look at him. “I have your favorite waiting for us at home. Come with me. This can wait.”
