I didnt sleep, I went to develop Telehermes or now I call Teleoikos. Theyre in note form cuz I had a burst of inspiration
Such a cruel irony indeed.
This Tele develops absolutely no soft spot for Antinous, even though my main universe has that.
He's his least favorite and will never understand why several versions of himself end up with the likes of an Antinous.
And his reaction about Tele x Anti?
It's in the same range as the fandom where they go:
"Why would Telemachus want to be with his would-be killer and his mother's would-be rapist?"
He doesn't get it, because his Antinous surely gave him that impression firsthand.
I think he never calls another Odysseus "Father." He calls them by name, regardless of what their story is.
But every Penelope is "Mother" to him.
So whenever he travels, he avoids meeting one.
Maybe when an Odysseus hears his story and goes to hug him...
He immediately pries himself away, like anyone would if they had never met their father their whole life.
I'll give him glowing eyes, but he can turn them back to normal.
And I'll have him with a gold streak of hair from Hermes.
I also like the idea that somewhere, someone mistakes him for Hermes in disguise.
He'll keep his human traits.
He travels to the Modern AU too.
So he knows Gen Z slang and weaponizes it. >:3
He hasn't really lived a thousand years yet.
He just travels through time.
He can only travel through my AUs that are connected.
He can't go to my Undertale AUs, my Five Nights at Freddy's AU, or my Marvel AU.
Only the EPIC: The Musical AU.
And because my EPIC AU has a Modern AU, he can go there and learn about phones and stuff, just like Grandpa Hermes does.
Hermes is the reason there are glasses in Ancient Greece.
And also the reason there are messaging apps in the modern world lol.
The reason Telehermes never calls another Odysseus "Father" is because he never got to call his own that.
He was "killed" during his route home from his diplomatic mission, before Odysseus ever returned.
Hermes offered him the bargain shortly after he was left to drown.
He never knew his father got home.
Never knew his mother killed herself.
Never knew his father went mad because of it.
He only found out after he gained the ability to travel through the multiverse and returned to his own world.
I want to make it hurt even more.
Maybe while the suitors were beating him, they told him exactly what they were going to do to his defenseless mother once he was gone.
That they'd force themselves on her.
All because he was too weak to protect her.
They threw him into the ocean.
The despicable thing happened.
Penelope took her own life because of that trauma.
Odysseus came home to a palace in shambles.
A wife already long gone.
A son he believed long gone too.
When Telehermes finally had the chance to return...
Sometimes he visits his home years later.
When there's only rubble and history left.
It's more cathartic seeing it after time has passed than returning to it as an empty home.
I think after Odysseus went mad, he disappeared.
No one knows what became of him.
When Telehermes visits the palace ruins...
Sometimes he sits on the ground.
Arms behind him, supporting himself.
His feet swing side to side.
He thought he could pretend just a little longer that he was okay.
Hermes is like the only family he has left.
Tele: "Hey Grandpa, since we're traveling from now on... will I get one of those silly hats you're wearing?"
Hermes just ruffles his hair.
It's way too complicated. No one knows how to categorize him.
So he just calls himself a demigod.
He has to build his own identity.
A scene where he's in Olympus and interacts with the other gods.
They all just go with it.
Since I only have one set of gods across all universes...
Poseidon has probably met hundreds, if not thousands, of Odysseuses.
Many times he's threatened to gouge Odysseus' sons' eyes out.
But Poseidon takes one look at this Telemachus...
He just doesn't feel like doing it.
Gods intervene in lots of stories.
Since I only have one set of gods, they've watched the same story repeat over and over with slight variations.
Some worlds receive no divine intervention at all?
That explains why, in my snippets, it's like the first time she ever met this Telemachus.
That also means during "Little Wolf"...
Telehermes got beaten badly because Athena was never there to save him.
Hermes can freely travel between realms.
That's why his appearances across branches are so consistent.
But they can only be in one branch at a time.
They simply never intervene.
This Telemachus' story changes because:
- No divine intervention.
Hermes notices this realm hasn't started the "god games" part of the story.
So he simply plays his role anyway.
He frees Odysseus from Calypso.
Hermes thinks he's only a tiny bit late.
Surely nothing major changed...
Then he checks one last time.
Everything has gone catastrophically wrong.
The suitors sabotaged Telemachus' return.
Odysseus came home too late.
None of that was ever supposed to happen.
To make things right, for what little it was worth...
Hermes noticed the drowning prince.
Everything changed from there.
The Threads of Fate are meant to keep every branch close to the original story.
Odysseus is supposed to earn his kleos.
That's how it's meant to end.
Telehermes is an anomaly.
One the gods should have corrected.
His world is truly one of a kind.
This Tele never has a partner.
Maybe thousands of years...
He probably fathers a few children.
Maybe he lives with them, aging his appearance to match.
He does tell them he's immortal
They leave the mortal world.
I kinda want to integrate him into history as a demigod in-story.
Hermes is the god of travel.
Telehermes is just a placeholder.
It sounds like a ship name.
I think, in this AU, Tele is the reason the brand is called Oikos.(jk jk)
Hermes can't take credit for everything.
He somehow earns kleos because of this.
It doesn't really matter to him anymore.
Since Penelope died and the prince was lost at sea...
There would probably be a tomb in his memory.
Telemachus died that day.
He stands before his own grave.
Hermes appears beside him and places a comforting hand on his shoulder.
Originally his name really was Telehermes.
He joked about it since Telemachus was "dead."
Hermes looked at him and basically said he was far more creative than that.
This AU is going to have a lot of Hermes and Tele moments.
Scrolls are his specialty.
Maps help people in journey.
Find their way back home.
That's another reason Teleoikos dedicates himself to maps.
The first time Hermes tells him to map an uncharted area...
His father comes to mind.
Sometimes while recording routes and shortcuts...
He imagines his father seeing them.
Some of his parchments still bear visible tear stains that never quite disappear.
I love how Teleoikos becomes Hermes' favorite great-great-grandson among all the Telemachi.
