Just Stuff

in Jewish folklore, golems are statues (usually made out of clay or earth) that are brought to life through rituals to protect people. in most stories of them, they run amok and become too dangerous, and thus must be shut down by the creators.

this heavily mirrors the Regi trio. the three of them (technically five now, but it was only three when ruby and sapphire came out) were created by regigigas but were eventually sealed away by humans for being to dangerous. and their designs are heavily based on the Jewish golems, being made out of a lifeless substance and having a humanoid shape.

but the more interesting thing I found is the weather trio being based on the Behemoth, the Leviathan, and the Ziz

all three of these creature are from Jewish folklore. the Behemoth is the unconquerable male land-monster, living in an invisible desert east of the Garden of Eden. very similar to the ground monster of the land, groudon.

the Leviathan is the primeval female sea-monster, dwelling in "the Abyss" (which is appears in a Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible and sorta translates to "void" and "sea-deep"). and that's very similar to kyogre, the water monster of the ocean.

this is happening at my college right now. i’m in my third year here and everyone i know is like. haha, im in danger.

what they’re doing seems almost illegal, like.. considering desantis brought in the majority of the trustees in one sweep, we didnt even have a chance to dissent their new supermajority firing president okker with no cause. or if it isn’t, it should be illegal, there’s literally no checks and balances happening here. no democracy involved. genuine fascism at work, it’s actually absurd. extremely fucking filthy and despicable political ploy.

yesterday wrt the board of trustees meeting, a student commented, “The fact they are playing [the college president] like she's a game and she is sitting at that table CRYING is something that shakes me.”

this is who they replaced our president with

they don’t care about education or the students at all. they don’t care. we’re chess pieces to them.
