I see how they cut off the movie right as they were saying "he's my only friend-"! I see how they separated them through lightning differences! I see then how they cut off the choir singing as "Hikaru" got stabbed! Fuck, this anime is a god damn MASTERPIECE. They really exercised the audio that we get through the show to tell the story, it was amazing.

"Hikaru" crying felt like a punch in the stomach. I hurt for him so bad. I cried when he ripped out a part of himself, his pained noises were breaking my heart. I love him so much I'm terrified for him, idk how much my heart can take. I just hope whatever the end of this series is, that he's not alone.

"Hikaru" loves Yoshiki so much my heart can't take it. He didn't get mad for even a millisecond, he never would have dreamed of retaliating. He even barrels through any feelings of betrayal to try and understand Yoshiki and to comfort him.

Didn't like that visual there at the end. I mean I did in an artistic sense, but not in a way that isn't torture.

It's definitely a power fantasy anime, but I like and relate to the protag enough to have fun with it! Like I can't relate to Batman or James Bond, but I can to feeling weak and useless. I've got to say protag's blackening is my favorite part of it so far. They do it really well and make you root for it too, love it. I'm like fuck yeah kill that asshole!

Loooove the way they present horror in the anime with the change in animation and the sound effects.

The way they evoke sympathy for "Hikaru" is something I've never really seen done before. I don't just pity him, I like him a lot. He has feelings and likes and a personality. Usually horror fiction seems to make you either revile or pity the monster a best. Like shaking your head over its corpse saying "poor wretched beast". But "Hikaru" is 100% not human, and the manga fully rejects him trying to become one or treating him like one. Yoshiki is human, and "Hikaru" is not. So how can they be together?

I LOVE the Manga's bonuses that show the endings that could have been, because you want them to have a solution. But the managa is ruthless, it shows why each "solution" doesn't work. "Hikaru" leaving doesn't work, treating "Hikaru" like a human, using "Hikaru" doesn't work... but if "Hikaru" stays, he attracts entities that will harm people. so how on Earth will this end? It really is anyone's guess at this point. Neither of them can go back to the way before. Even death in this story has been established that you just "change shape a little". So even the tragedy of one or both of them dying isn't so cut and dry.

BUT WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF WITH MY DOOMED YEARNING BLACK/WHITE PAIRS

And yep, here we are. But now I am CONSUMED with a whole other media that I'm terrified of the ending noooo.

Because I just don't see how either one of the shows can end anything but bittersweet at best. 💔 And it's TORTURE.
