alright i know jeremy is the literal definition of being the biggest sunshine ever, but hear me out.

jeremy just didn't plan for this to happen— it's as simple as that. the trojans are playing a game and it's just rough. it isn't the first time they played a rough game of course, but it's the first time they play it with jean.

and it isn't jean's fault AT ALL, but jean is just used to play rough games with rough(er) actions. of course he tries to hold back— he knows the trojans earned their great reputation for a good reason and he doesn't want to take that away from them.

but things happen and jean gets hit with someone's stick— he isn't even sure how or when it happened since it happened too fast, he just knew when the stick hit him.

jean knows if he gets hurt too much, he could just stop; the trojans have enough players, they could handle themselves (they made sure he'd know).

but jean is used to getting up over and over again— no matter how bad the hit is. jean finds jeremy glaring at #11 and jean immediately knows who just hit him, but jean just grips his stick harder, reassures jeremy he's okay with a nod and he lets the referee handle #11 for him.

the game doesn't necessarily continue smoothly, but jean is still standing, so that should count for something. it isn't untill there are only five minutes left on the clock when the game becomes a big war field.

it's so bad and rough it almost reminds jean of his earlier games with the ravens. he can feel his legs hurting and his stick just feels too heavy, but jean is no quitter. he stands taller with every ache in his body.

he takes a deep breath and decides that if he wants to take control of things he's gonna have to play rough 'till the very last second.

there are only a few minutes left, he's sure that whatever happens can't turn out to be that bad. he's running and taking control of the ball multiple times and then it happens...

jean passes the ball to one of his teammates, he takes one short breath and then he's on the ground again. this time it's #9 standing behind him. jean looks up and the guy is just grinning at him, jean knows #9 said something; jean could hear the words "stop... go and raven" but everything is too loud to really catch what #9 tried to tell him.

jeremy heard it though and normally jeremy would have let it happen with a polite smile, but this time he drops his stick. "what did you just say?" jeremy asks, pushing the bigger guy. #9 almost falls down, but he catches himself just in time. jean grabs not only his own stick, but also jeremy's. he finally stands up and even though he knows the best thing to do right now was tell jeremy he's okay, he just lets the scene happen— just for the very reason that he's too surprised about what's happening and would very much like to know what jeremy planned on doing.

#9 is ready to start a good fight, but jeremy pushes him again. the referee was quick to join in though to tell jeremy to stop while handing him a yellow card.

#9 didn't take this as a win though. this time he pushes jeremy with his stick, making jeremy scoff while looking for his own stick. he finds it in jean's hand and doesn't hesitate to ask for it.

"give me my stick and i'll show him the things i can do with it." jeremy says while reaching for his stick, but jean takes a step back. as much as he would love to see jeremy continuing this fight, he makes sure he won't be the reason to ruin a reputation tonight.

"jean, give me my...—" jeremy doesn't get to finish because jean shakes his head.

"stop this." jean tells him. "we're winning anyways, don't ruin it with a red card." jeremy sighs, looks at #9 and then decides jean is right.

jeremy is already starting to forget how he could have lost himself like that, but jean doesn't. he just grins while handing jeremy his stick back. jean liked jeremy a lot— i mean how couldn't he? jeremy had only been kind to him ever since he got here and jean couldn't say he had always payed him the same kindness.

but seeing jeremy lose his temper for once? jean loved it. for once there wasn't any harm done because of jean. there was no fear or anger caused because of jean.
