Which yeah, solitary species, territorial, I get it. Heck, I'm a member of a highly social species and I'd also probably freak out if there was just Some Guy in my house one day.

But like, adult cats will also react this way to fucking kittens.

Your average adult cat treats the introduction of a new kitten to the household like the hero of a Spaghetti Western treats a Stranger In Town who suddenly wanders into the town saloon. Except the stranger is a random toddler.

The sharpest, best-trained pilots make worse decisions when they're tired or sick or stressed out, so there's two of them. The most dedicated and experienced air traffic controllers garble an instruction over the radio sometimes, so pilots are trained to always repeat clearances back to catch misunderstandings quickly. The best and brightest maintenance mechanic still overlooks a screw or misconnects a wire once or twice in her career, so aircraft systems are built with two or three or four layers of redundancy, and pilots are exhaustively trained to deal with failures safely. 

“this isn’t true because the ex-friendship that traumatized me ended explosively after they were mad at me and never told me why” that’s not good. they shouldn’t be doing that

“i don’t think this is true because my current friend group is constantly icing me out until i figure out what ive done to upset them and properly apologized without being told” hey thats not good. they should not be doing that

Its why our culture has become so negative and competitive

Its a "me vs you" state of mind constantly and I am just not here for it

Its why the accessibility of most of the US still remains as horrible as it is: because no one cares about anyone else anymore.

The "American Dream" of pulling yourself but by the boot straps has gotten out of hand. There is a difference in working hard to give yourself the best life but not burning yourself out and absolutely running yourself and others into the ground on your mission to become wealthy

Honestly I feel like if you ask most Americans if they wanna be rich, they'll say yes. But when you ask them to explain why, it'll always boil down to wanting to be able to take care of ourselves by not stressing about how much money we miss out on by taking time off, not stressing about the budget for the grocery store, or to go out with friends and have a good time. To have a good home and be able to take care of themselves and their families
