Even though I live in the city now, this facility still owns my heart. For all of you Michiganders who have never been to the Traverse City State Hospital, for the love of god, go. You will learn so much about the history of our state as well as the history of this incredible establishment. I stepped foot into this place on my birthday (February 28th) of this year, and I have been there hundreds of times since. It is so full of history and emotion, that you cannot help but become enamored with it. I would give damn near anything to be able to give tours for this facility, but I will settle for exploring and capturing photos.
