Structure
This is a pretty basic/common design that consists of creating pockets for the thumb and four other fingers. Holes are cut out, and then covered in cloth/felt. This allows the mouth to be controlled by the hand. Typically, the cutout should be an oval slightly larger than the hand it is designed for , just so that both left and right handed folks can use it.
Typically the size of the hand shouldn't affect the size of the puppet's head, because most fingers are longer than wider, and the hand pockets can be covered by cloth and made into any size.
I still haven't decided how to connect the two head pieces to each other OR the body, but that is a problem for later me. I'll do some research and continue planning that. I hate watching youtube videos so I'm just problem solving as I figure out methods that I like.
For the body, I am conflicted between three different designs, all of which depend on the hand mechanics. It doesn't matter right now.
