“The Gospels insist upon two antithetical truths which express the tragedy of the human condition: the first is that if you do not love you will not be alive; the second is that if you do love you will be killed. If you cannot love you remain self-enclosed and sterile, unable to create a future for yourself or others, unable to live. If, however, you do effectively love you will be a threat to the structures of domination upon which our human society rests, and you will be killed.”
— Fr Herbert McCabe (via onancientpaths)
You know what’s something our community needs to do more of??? Have actual discussions.
We attack one another for differing beliefs and opinions instead of TALKING about them.
Like the whole point of community is to discuss our religion with one another so we can expose each other to new ideas and help one another grow as spiritual people.
But a lot of people just want to create arguments and divides. People get lost in their own ego and it becomes less about sharing and more about winning and being right.
It’s a shame.
It also creates an environment where worshipers especially those starting out don’t want to share what they’re doing, learning, and the beliefs they are forming, fearful they are going to be vilified and then ostracized from their own community.
That’s not okay
You know people seem to think that community automatically means sharing the same beliefs, but it doesn’t especially not in our case. Being part of the Hellenic Polytheism community is accepting the fact that we aren’t all going to agree and that it’s okay. As a Revivalist I’m happy and proud to share space with Reconstructionists. I have a ton of respect for what they do not only in their own practice but for the community as well. And I know a bunch of them feel the same way about me. We can disagree or see things differently but that doesn’t mean we can’t still learn from and inspire one another.
It’s my personal the belief that the gods prefer the diversity. They enjoy the nostalgia the Reconstructionists bring them and they appreciate the hard work and effort it takes to keep the old ways alive in the new era. For Revivalists they are excited by the unpredictability of individuality and creativity and appreciate the personal touches we add. So if you think about it we as a community give them a beautiful balance of old and new. Whatever the gods could want we, together, have them covered!
So ultimately what I’m trying to say is that I wish we would appreciate each other more and have actual conversations.
now more than ever you must look for the gods in the smallest of places, in the details, in the power of someone's eyes. they are at every cry for peace, theyre at every step protestors take, they're at every word of justice, every heavy heartbeat, every fire started, and the way it grows and grows to reach the heavens, every silence of resistance, every tear rolling down someone's cheeks.
they are here now more than ever. have that in mind.

“I just don’t know what to do, I don’t think he wants me anymore,” I grumble near my beer. I don’t bother looking over at my friends, knowing they are giving such pity-filled faces.
“I’m sure that’s not the case,” Aria soothes. I rest my cheek on my arm as I regard her.
“But what if it is. I’m really different than his previous taste,” I argue, wording things differently. I cant tell them that we are completely different species all together. It’s a fear I’ve had from the start, we are just so different. What if he is bored of the novelty of bedding a human? Perhaps he is already looking for someone more close to home. The thought is heavy in my stomach, the image is like daggers to my brain.
“Than you are more special than the others cause you don’t match his previous taste,” Aria attempts to persuade. It falls flat quickly.
“I think I was more of a ‘slumming it’ kind of case more than a 'better than the rest’ thing,” I groan.
“Don’t say that! You are way too pretty to be considered 'slumming it’ material. I know you ar-,” Aria continues to comfort till Trina interrupts.
“Have you just asked him,” Trina asks from beside me. I turn over and watch her finish off her pint. She glances over at me and cocks a brow,“ It’s the new age, no use overthinking things when you can just ask.” I look at her skeptically, it cant be that easy. I don’t think I can bare the answer even if it was. What if bringing it up makes him ponders the situation then likes it. I rather not be the reason he starts looking at me as a waste. God, where has the self-critical nature come from? I use to be so proud and confident, why am I like this now?

The Moon in The Houses:
Just as the Moon circles the Sun, in a symbolically protective manner, and reflects the Sun’s light, the Moon in our chart shows how we protect ourselves, as well as make ourselves feel secure, comfortable, and safe. The Moon represents our deepest personal needs, our basic habits and reactions, and our unconscious.
Where the Sun acts, the Moon reacts. The moon represents how me instinctively react to problems. It shows what we do when we need to feel a sense of security.
House 1: The House of Self. You wear your heart on your sleeve; your emotions are there for everyone to see. Freedom and stimulation make you happy. Your moods change quickly. You have a tendency to let your emotions overpower logic.
House 2: The House of possessions. You can be generous one day and frugal the next day when it comes to money. Having your bills paid and your own belongings make you feel secure and safe. You are afraid of debt. Vanity may be an issue and you are looking for approval. You may try to hide your emotions.
House 3: The House of communication. You can pick up on languages easily. You have the ability to intimidate others if you want to. You may intellectualise your emotions instead of feeling them and dealing with them. You are sensitive to other people’s opinions. You often make decisions just because they “feel right.”
House 4: The House of home. You feel a deep need for a sense of belonging. You may look for things outside of yourself for things you need to find within yourself. You have a strong attachment to family and tradition.
House 5: The House of pleasure. You love to share conversations, drama, and just enjoy other’s company is a happy tone. You may dramatise your emotions. Love affairs are always intense to you and you take them seriously. Your hobbies are subject to frequent change, but are mostly creative in nature. If the moon is challenged, you may find yourself with problems with impulsive compulsions like gambling or shopping. You may also take irresponsible risks for fun.
House 6: The House of health. You feel a need to be organised and work hard. You like to help people in need. You are very sympathetic. You may want to exaggerate symptoms of health concerns for sympathy.
House 7: The House of partnership. You look for a companion who can emotionally support and and love you. The right partner awakens feelings in you you never knew you could feel. You may have a hard time taking breaks between relationships because you are looking so hard for emotional fulfilment.
House 8: The House of sex. You have a strong need for emotional security, but you are attracted to a partner who pushes your limits. You are fascinated with the darker side of how people work; sex, taboos… Your emotions change quickly and this can prove difficult when trying to emotionally connect with your partner. You want closeness, but you close yourself off.
House 9: The House of philosophy. You need to be stimulated. Routine bores you and you need something more. You are often longing to move around and travel, but you need to learn to be happy with where you are and with yourself.
House 10: The House of social status. You want emotional recognition, want to be popular, and to be accepted. You are at your best when you are leading a structured life. You may change your goals frequently. You work well in the public and people generally like you. You give good first impressions and understand people emotionally.
House 11: The House of friendship. You want friendships you feel you belong in. You like to feel emotionally connected and secured. If you are emotionally unwell, this will seriously effect your relationships with friends. Your mood, goals, and aspirations change often.
House 12: The House of subconscious. The moon in this house makes you sensitive towards things that are emotional and groundless. Sensitive though you are, your emotional reactions are often delayed as a way to defend yourself. You often feel the need for solitude.
Dollar Tree witchcraft✨
Thank you so so much for 350 followers— Hope this list helps inspire someone to do some affordable yet fun witchcraft shopping!
- Goblets or wine glasses serve as chalices
- Frames (you can create a black mirror, or print out pictures of your familiar or pet, or draw pictures of symbols and sigils and insert them into the frame)
- Salt, herbs, and spices
- Jars and bottles
- Mugs for teas and charmed drinks
- Vases
- Candles
- Plates/dishes
- Styrofoam molds (guys, they have some amazing styrofoam stuff??? Heads, balls, wreath shapes, squares, etc. perfect for decorating. You could paint them with a thick, glossy paint to try to cover up the styrofoam look, but it would also look cool with the chipped effect! They’re great for many projects. You could even paint a styrofoam head to hold any amulets/etc. Try cutting a hole at the top and supergluing a crystal in it so that it pokes mostly out, and then even gluing dried moss around it. Or, Painting a styrofoam shape black and then drawing sharpie sigils such as for "the object this holds is cleansed" and then if questioned say you’re just decorating it to "look cooler")
- Bowls for cleansing things in
- Incense
- Matches/lighters
- Stickers
- Seeds
- Bells
- Candle stands/holders
- Fish netting (gives a cool look to many things, especially as a "cloth" for water based altars!)
- Paper bags
- "Gems" and stones (could paint runes or elemental symbols on them, etc)
- Canvases
- Containers
- Twine/burlap and decorative greenery (flowers, fake moss, straw, etc) (you can usually buy burlap in bulk at stores for a better deal)
- Sometimes around fall they have hand sized hay barrels you can set crystals, a candle, etc on!
- Branch wreaths
- Fake vines and leaves
- Glitter (spell jars, sigil decor, etc)

NZ traditional haka for black lives matter, video posted june 3rd 2020
For those of you who don't know, this specific haka was written by a father to acknowledge his son's wrongdoing and basically tell him to get his shit together. It is also modernly used as a haka tautoko, or acknowledgement, in some contexts.
Y'all see how symbolic this is, right? It's both acknowledging current events as a show of solidarity, but also calling for world leaders to get their shit together and admit their wrongdoings and try to change things. This shit is powerful.
The user quobbo on tiktok did a little rundown analysis of it here:
#stitch with @tonifui 👈(credit) | Tika Tonu (a ngeri/haka) in a 60sec tt #blm #poc #sons #aotearoa #māori
for some reason this ^ reblog isnt showing up in the notes? maybe it's the link, but for those looking to explains the significance of this from a closer maori experience - what the dance means and why the video is so culturally epic (if interested in knowing more, pls click this reblog)
All proceeds are going to various organizations within the blm movement

Rat King Boyfriend: Volkhard 2
Our heroine takes her life from the sewers and into Volkhard’s palace. There, she sees her daughter Ebba has the life she deserves while she works for Volkhard under his new deal. Warning! Does feature dark themes and murder.
Female Reader x Male Monster
Ebba and I leave the sewers that afternoon, making our way to the gates of the Volkhard Estate. Using the heavy key, I unlock the gate and it swings open, closing behind us once we walk through. The doors open as we come up the stairs, but there is no one there.
In the foyer, there is a portrait of what I can only imagine is Volkhard, in better days. He is tall and handsome with long, dark hair. Standing beside him is a young girl, maybe seven or eight. She has corkscrew curls of the same dark color. “Is that him?” Ebba asks breathlessly.
“No, love,” I say softly. “That’s not him.”
“There are my guests of honor,” Volkhard booms. Looking up, we see him standing above us on the stairs.
“Oh,” Ebba says in shock.
Volkhard descends the stairs to meet us. “It’s so nice to have you here.” He looks down at Ebba, who is staring at him with her mouth wide open. “You must be Ebba.”

Happy Strawberry Moon! —Moon Blooded Breeding Clinic, introduction; M Werewolf x F Human, NSFW in all upcoming chapters, breeding kink
Happy Full Moon! I know I said I wasn’t going to be dropping any new updates until the posting atmosphere is a bit better, but it’s the full moon and I couldn’t resist! Happy Strawberry Moon — I hope you’ll join me this month for Moon Blooded Breeding Clinic!
CW: fertility talk, trouble with conception, breeding kink, knotting kink
The ticking of the clock on the mantle seemed to echo through the house.
Each hollow click brought you closer to the full moon, closer to your fate, and the sound reverberating through your chest until you were not able to distinguish it from the beating of your heart. When your phone buzzed beside you, jarring the monotonous syncopation of the clock, you nearly jumped out of your skin.
Lowell’s name flashed on your screen, and your heartbeat outraced the ticking of the clock.
Hi, just wanted to check in!
I hope you’re holding up okay
See you sometime next week?
He’s so nice, you thought, shifting miserably on the sofa. He was nicer than Kinley, the other face you’d chosen from the catalog at the clinic. Thick dark hair and sparkling eyes like bittersweet chocolate, Lowell’s profile had been an easy checklist of highly sought-after qualities in a donor: he was handsome, well-educated and athletic, with no known health issues. He came from a big family, had been tested for illness and reproductive issues and had passed all with flying colors. The fact that he was a twin was the only thing that gave you pause, which was why a back-up donor had been selected. Not that it matters, not now. You had a whole month to decide which wolf you would choose.
