No matter how I desperate I get I refuse to try to pull people into getting into Witch Hat Atelier by pulling the "Do you like Doomed Yaoi" card. Not just because I want people to engage with the rest of the story instead of just orufrey but also because like. It feels really mean to pull that card when I know that 1. It takes a good while to get to it and 2. "Doomed Yaoi" does not even begin to describe how fucked the situation actually is.
It's like the manga equivalent of going "There's ice cream in the freezer but not until you've finished your green beans!!" But the green beans are absolutely mind-blowingly delicious to the point you have no problem finishing them, like to the point that you've almost completely forgotten about the prospect of dessert. Once you remember though, you march over to your fridge, excited to cap off an already delicious meal with a nice sweet treat, and then you open the tub and there's a huge dead spider in it
