It's set in stone; you're little doc to him and he treats you as such. Your mechanical background only amplifies that for him too.
Even if you don't ask questions, he's telling you things, stories, about his home, the war. You learn more than you'd want too, but it's also nice to understand them better... right?
Unfortunately for Miko, you quickly take her spot as the #1 favorite human for Wheeljack. You learned about his ship, and even learned how to work on it with him. You're oddly skilled but he shrugs it off.
He wants to show you more cool gadgets and the like, but you never ask, and he never really gets a true chance to show you.

When you're not on base, and out doing whatever you do as a human, he occasionally sneaks out and checks in on you.
You can't count the times he's scared you at your house, and the scoldings just slide right off him too; his fascination is too strong.
If Ratchet isn't available, Smokescreen is your guardian for the day (after much pleading to Optimus.) At least you don't have to worry about talking when he's around.
