GUYS!! Beware of this scam going around. Someone took over @sm0lb3tch old account and is trying to gain access to other People's accounts by doing this reporting account scam. Here's the screenshots.

I thought it was legit at first but as I was talking with this 'staff member's on discord, he asked for my date of birth and country and then he asked me to switch my tumblers email account to one he provided to 'look at my account'. Y'all-

The scammer goes by tumblrlevine17 on Discord. Block them if they try to interact with you. I forgot to take a screenshot of their icon before completely deleting the convo and blocking them however it's a man with a LinkedIn account linked on his profile. Please block them and don't interact if he messages you on Discord.

This is their account, they seem to have changed their username. One odd thing I noticed was that their username did appear as "Deleted user". Idk anything about discord, so I have no idea if their account is actually deleted or not though.

(I know that at this point I should've asked questions, but because I was so terrified of doing something wrong, I kept quiet and just did as I was told.)

I seriously hope that any of you who see this are better at confrontations than I am. Me being a people pleaser and terrified of going against the rules allowed this to happen.

By the way, if any of you went through this and lost your account, try to message Tumblr about it. I got lucky and everything worked out for me in the end—I got my account back super easily—so this might not work for everyone

But regardless, it's always worth the shot.

I ain't even gonna just copy paste the messages, every person deserves the time it takes to write the messages by hand

That scammer better count his fucking days I swear to god (Not threatening him with violence, threatening him with karma)

Also; I'm contemplating on going back to using this account. I'm planning on keeping my new account up incase something happens and I need to use it again, but for now I'm planning on sticking to this one

Hi! That's me. My old account got accidentally reported by someone who mistook me for someone else, which then led to my account being taken down.

So, a little update on this.

Turns out, that person was a scammer!

Yeah, a scammer is now in charge of my old account and is going around telling people that they accidentally reported their account.

If you comply with their request to "help them clear up any confusion with the staff", you'll be told to befriend someone on dicsord, who will then tell you to change your email so they know which account to look for, then to log out temporarily.

If you do this, they will tell you that you have violated multiple guidelines, and you will be demanded to pay a "verification fee". If you fail to do this, they will tell you that your account will be deleted, and they'll take over your account.

I got my account back! Yippeee🎉🎉

Idk if I will go back to using it, the scammer has done it's damage—but then again I had a LOT on my old account

Scammer: So just look at the card you bought and send me the code for it.

Me: Where do I see that?
