     ”You really think so, Colin?”

     ”It’s a little…” silly looking… “If you like it you should get one!”

       "Oh, I can't. I'm saving up my money for something else."

       "You're welcome!" Colin beams, his gaze sliding over the hat, taking in the little skidded and torn marks. "It looks kinda worn out, though. Have you had it for a long time?" 

"I’m well aware what dating means."

               He’d briefed himself about the subject many times over of course, done his research without having to speak to anyone and risk being revealed before he’d wanted to be. And though hearing the word ‘yes’, he honestly didn’t know at this point what to feel. The myriad of emotions was a little overwhelming. The little bit of fear faded, and now he was back to his usual self, if only a little more excited.

               Turning his body even more to see what sort of face Colin might be making settled him completely. He wasn’t facing the other, but the expression on his face was honest and telling.  "I do. There’s a show playing in a few hours. That, and I happen to have the best ticket to eat wherever we’d like. Afterwords, we could go anywhere. Do anything.”

               Colin's eyes widened with a gleam of excitement. It wasn't just that the planned night sounded cool, it was that it sounded awesome. If Colin was being honest, he never really had a lot of awesome days. Being an orphan since birth, there isn't a lot of awesome days in to begin with.

               Spinning on his heel toward Damian, he met blue eyes with grey. A toothy grin was spread over his face, wide enough for the missing tooth space beside his front tooth to become visible. "That sounds neat! I mean----amazing. That sounds amazing. It's not some black tie show, is it?"

                                            "I think I ripped my last suit going all Abuse on the Joker when he attacked your dad at that Wayne party last month."
