Someone has sent Mina Shirakawa a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Not Marina Shafir, definitely not her. But if it wasn't her, who sent them? And why haven't they said anything?
Not that Marina is mad, or cares. And the fact that she needs to calm herself down? That's not part of it either, it's just getting high. So she goes to The Rascalz, who end up being more helpful than she would've ever guessed.

I had the shower idea of “what if Marina got high with The Rascalz and vented about Mina in an Incredibly Normal Way” because they are my ship and I love them and I want to write soooo much about them. It’s not part of my main Minarina fic/AU because this is going by the idea of “what if Marina didn’t give her the bouquet and she was Extra Normal about that too”. Just lots of Marina pining for her joshi.

Flowers. Someone got Mina Shirakawa flowers. Marina cracks her knuckles as she stalks through the back of the arena they were at that night. It’s been weeks since the Collision where Mina had received that bouquet, but it’s still at the forefront of her mind.
Because it wasn’t her who sent them.
Marina’s spent plenty of time since Blood & Guts admiring Mina from afar, like one would a piece of fine art at the Louvre, and really, Mina is the type of woman who would definitely be in the same league as something like the Mona Lisa.
Here Mina has a wife (not that Toni Storm would stop Marina from going after Mina) and now some sort of secret admirer. Marina is pissed, which is reflected in her posture: she’s slightly hunched forward, her step quick, hands balled into tight fists, knuckles white. She needs some form of release, and while finding some woman backstage to beat the hell out of seems nice, it would only solve the problem for a few minutes. No, she needs something that would chill her out for the rest of the night. Sure, she’ll probably be just as frustrated tomorrow, but that’s tomorrow Marina’s problem.
She rounds a corner, continuing down another hall, and as she does, muffled music starts to grow louder. As soon as Marina reaches the door she whips it open, stepping into the doorway to see the Rascalz—Dezmond Xavier, Myron Reed, and Zachary Wentz—sitting on one of the couches, a small table full of snack foods in front of them and a thick haze of weed smoke lingering around them. The three men turn to look at her, their expressions all varying levels of confusion and terror. Marina takes another step forward, slowly closing the door behind her.
“You guys are seeing this too, right?” Dezmond asks quietly, as if she can’t hear them. Zachary slowly nods. Myron, despite still staring at Marina, paws at the table to reach for the massive bag of Cheetos. When he finally finds it, he snakes his hand inside and grabs a handful, then shoves them in his mouth and chews.
Juneteenth is about Black people who were officially technically supposed to be freed from enslavement. Nobody else. Nothing else. It's not a POC day. It's not a "freedom for all" day. It's Black folk, Black culture, Black emancipation, SPECIFICALLY. Any other observation for Juneteenth is gentrification.
Your Juneteenth reminder that just because they made it a "national holiday," it's still not. It's for the celebration of Black Americans being freed from slavery, finally.
It's from Texas. We been welcoming other descendants of the enslaved. But we close the gate and draw the line with "everybody."
Bringing this back on Juneteenth because making Black observations a national holiday didn't and doesn't end racism and the nonblacks are more insufferable than they have been in my lifetime about Black American people and our things.
Happy Juneteenth to those whose lives would not be actively free without the day happening. See the rest of you tomorrow.

i have decided that i am not going to doom about saturday. i am not going to get a depressed.
