This can go with âthe JLA receives donations from citizensâ
If civilians donât want to donate to a certain hero they can donate to a certain organization (Ie: Batfam, the Flashes, Arrowfam, The Supers, Young Justice, Teen Titans, The Outsiders, Lanterns, ectâŚ)
But if a certain group is lacking (looking at you Mr/Mrs Green âMy ass is barely on Earth and I do this shit for freeâ Lanterns) in the funds department. One way to help with that is by public attention. The media, basically. But that becomes a problem because the GLs arenât on Earth all the time. So, they only have enough funds to not be on the streets (because I refuse to believe that Hal is the only one off to bum hood, all them bitches are off Earth so much that theyâre all unemployed, plus even if they werenât one is a struggle artist, and the second oneâs on a teacherâs pay.)
So one day they found that theyâre funds are gone ( Theyâve been gone for so long that they funding just started to decline to pay for their rent or something like that) and know theyâre broke. But before they could think wit a game plan, someone needed rescuing. Plot stuff happens, they save the day but one civilian mixed Kyle âFourâ and Hal âOneâ names up, the other asked who Jess âSixâ and Simon âFiveâ was, and a reporter asked John âThreeâ and Guy âTwoâ who was Two and who was Three. Theyâre all insulated because theyâve been heroes long enough that people should know by now. Anyways back at the Watchtower with Hal and Kyle VENTING (bc theyâre petty like that) and in comes Oliver Queen, in a very expensive suit. He sees Hal mad and comes over to ask whatâs up (like a good bro).
Oliver: Oh, someone looks mad. Come on, lay it on me.
Hal: Someone mixed me and Kyles names up, asked Jess and Si who they were, and asked John and Guy who number names they were.
Oliver: Well, there are a lot of you.
Hal: Oh please! Thereâs way more Bats then there are us.
Kyle: Itâs kinda freaky how people can tell the difference between all the robins and Batlings like heroes.
John: [Looking at Oliver] How can they tell the difference?
Oliver: Oh thatâs easy, someone posted a poorly made music video about all the different heroes in Gotham, like a decade ago. [Pulls out phone to show them the video] Youâve never seen this before? Ugh, never mind of course you havenât.
Olivers [His watch starts to go off] Well Iâm off, got a date with Dinah. How do I look?
Hal: Sexy as hell. 10/10. Would recommend. And would definitely smash.
Oliver: Aww, shucks Hal. You really do know how to make a guy feel appreciated.
Hal: I have my ways. Now go before Dinah gets your head.
Kyle, Jess, and Si rewatch the video on Johnâs phone.
Jess: I hate to say this but itâs kind of catchy.
Si: YeaâŚ. I still hate it though.
Guy: So what. Your sayân all we need to do is make some catchy tunes for people to know who we are?
Kyle: I donât know. Maybe :/
Jess: Hey, maybe we should. Think about it, writing a song shouldnât be that hard and we all now how to sing. Aanndddd I need those funds back soon.
[Everyone shakes their heads in agreement]
John: [Sighs, bc he know to danm well that this is going to be a long few weeks or months] Ok, letâs say we did do this. Whatâs the song going to be about?
John: [hand to his nose] Yes I understand that, but one songs for all of seemsâŚcounterproductive.
Jess:Ohh, what about a musical? It can tell our own individual feats, but with us still being together.
Si: Hmm, weâll need a name though,
Kyle: What about⌠Lanterns? Lanterns the musical?
Guy: âGuy! The most important, all powerful, and beautiful Lantern youâll ever seeâ have nice ring to it, ehh?
Hal: What aboutâŚâŚSix..the musical? Since thereâs six of us and we do a number based name system? (Yes, the name is from Six the musical. A musical about Henry the 8th and his six wives, on Broadway. My GL musical au also follows the same premise as the actual musical, Six, but it follows the GLâs experiences of being a Lantern.)
Anyways, this gave me an excuse to pick up this idea thatâs been swimming in my head (about the GLâs being able to sing bc of their boot camp training) and finally be able to start it off.
