i truly admire you and metalsyringes ability and willingness to write characters who arent "good" people. theyre very refreshing, being realistic and relatable in ways most authors arent truly willing to approach
i really enjoy seeing their growth through the story, and i especially appreciate that they arent "fully redeemed" by the end. it carries the weight that any and all growth is important and good no matter how small it is or how long it takes
i think the fact they came from a wreck it ralph au is honestly poetic - “I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.”
basically your characters rule and you have to keep drawing them forever.
It is appreciated! We're incredibly grateful for this response, it means a lot to hear :-D
Though, the Wreck-It Ralph quote is a bit funny for several reasons. These aren't really characters that accept themselves, even if they find acceptance in each other. There's still a lot of people they'd rather be than themselves by the end. More than anything this is a character study and exploring the question of: "Everyone can change, but not everyone does. Why not?" with as many different answers as we can.
Secondly, this is the context of me and @metalsyringe's first real one-on-one conversation:
