Ugliness

Now this, THIS is the heart of Hunter. One day you see the world for what it is and what it is is rigged. It is designed and run by monsters to dangle happiness before you so you keep living just enough so they can leech off that life. Your home destroyed because a werewolf had a tantrum, your sister mysteriously dies of "consumption" because a vampire was literally consuming her, and your husband turns out to be a mage that has been mindraping you for over a decade.

You once dreamt of greater things, but you realize the only ones who get to achieve their dreams are the ones already at the top. There is no winning. You are nothing in this world.

It's so easy to just lay down and take it. Or not know at all how hopeless and horrible everything is, how this world is built on desecrated bones and exploitation. Even worse, there are humans who make it their life's ambition to crawl up the ladder until they become the exploiters themselves — the vampires, the mages, the monsters.

Hunter is about saying fuck that. Hunter is about knowing that you are facing insurmountable odds designed to fuck you over, and fighting anyway. Hunter is about fighting for HUMANITY — something the monsters sneer at and trample on even as they rely on it for their existence. Hunter is about INSISTING that the monsters, even if that monster turns out to be god itself, will not have this world.
