I’ve slept since then and woken up a bit fresher and reread Shep’s statement with a clearer mind (it was around midnight for me when a friend decided to send me the statements cuz he forgot we are in wildly different time zone ToT). I would like to say I do not have any intention’s of downplaying someone’s trauma, even the "wrong” can experience ptsd. I’m saying "wrong" because I truly think (after sleeping on it) neither of them are necessarily in the wrong, and this definitely should have been resolved privately, if they were normal people (by normal people I mean not content creators whose actions are being viewed non-personally and biases form without knowing actual facts) this would have been a simple "We mutually do not like each other but will put up with each others presence when push comes to shove as our friends are still friends with each other". However, Shep is handling this extremely immaturely and he (and his friends) are letting that obscure logic. His logic of, "Oh, some other CC’s got exposed for being manipulative and bad, I can go ahead and dump this on the community in hopes of getting the person I don’t like booted" is extremely immature and insensitive to the community and Water himself. The community is already reeling from the sudden bomb the Av!d and M@rm situation was, dropping this isn’t "him finding the courage", or "him trying to warn the community", this is Shep actively trying to get someone canceled, seemingly without even discussing it with the affected party. Aiming for cancellation is VERY different than trying to put the truth to light or trying to vent. Most times people were cancelled, the people who came forth with the information weren’t necessarily trying to cancel them, rather inform people why this person was leaving the server or why they don’t talk anymore, or just simply venting and people put the pieces together. One of his main points is Water being manipulative, which he does not confirm nor even address other than, "yeah, she’s manipulative be the way", not even caring to drop any friends or at least which circle of friends who were affected, and none have come out about it, nor does he address whatever the manipulating was about. (This, again feels like him picking at a still bleeding scab because manipulative creators are predominant on our mind rn.) Shep’s other point of Water piggybacking off other creators for success is…asinine? That’s how content creation works nowadays with how big the platform is. Chances are, you’re going to be found through someone else’s videos and people liked you enough to go find your channel. And other than that, (Water also addresses this claim) from what I’ve seen (I’m not much of a fan of either content wise) Water does a lot of their own stuff, and claiming he doesn’t is an insult at best.
Another point from Shep is that she would often "bring me up early on in friendships as someone not to talk to", he doesn’t provide proof for that, nor how he knows this and who the people Water was talking to." This honestly just seems to be something born out of paranoia on his part because of the Graaavel situation (which I personally will only refer to as that as a sensitive topic), and how he responded to it, which put distrust on him among people he called friends. I don’t doubt he believes it, maybe it’s true to a certain extent, but until he provides actual proof rather than a single screenshot, I’m suspending total belief.
Now for my biggest place of doubt (of which you can probably guess as I’ve brought it up several times), the screenshot, his ONLY piece of proof publicly given (I say publicly as his friends are going around and saying, "Oh there’s proof! You just have to message him", but when I asked a few friends (I don’t use social much social media other than YouTube if you can count that and tumblr) to ask, they were blocked??). He gives minimal context for it, and it doesn’t much match what he was describing, which often is a sign of bending the truth. He claims she "always puts the blame on others" but only provides one instance, of which Water is asking Shep if he has any part, to which, if being ignored, would assume yes. Which is completely valid, if I’m being harassed and the person most viable to potentially be connected to it or doing it (I don’t think it was Shep) is completely mute when asked, I’d assume the worst! Notice also he said claims that Water threatened to dox him before showing the image, he explicitly states that Water threatened to take things public, which is not shown. You’d think it would be in the same conversation, if not at least another screenshot to prove such claims. The screenshot in and of itself just seems like a giant red herring, a show of saying, "hey, I also have proof, you should believe me."
I again stand by my beliefs in him having ptsd and asd, but it very much being a call to people/emotion (still can’t remember which fallacy it is). Most would want to keep such things private. To all of you saying I’ve just been dogging on Shep, I don’t have time right now as I’ve committed to a family outing already, but I will share my thoughts on it in a few hours when I get back.
