Skybourne University

Currently, this group is on hiatus because I don’t know if I have the help to run it but I am thinking about looking for additional help after my research trip this summer. I would love to revamp this roleplay, but we’ll see! 

VALENTINE’S MIXER

Valentine’s is upon us and Skybourne is throwing a speed dating and speed friending event. This event will also take place over two servers. Here, on tumblr, there will be a general mixer over the duration of the event. This is meant so there is no rush in responses so that way if members do not have a bit of time they can set aside for speed dating/friending, they can still participate.

For the speed dating & friending, we will have a channel set up in our discord server and have ‘rooms’ set aside for specified members on certain days. We will also provide a few questions on the event description posted right before the event kicks off, but ultimately, how the speed dating/friending goes is up to you all.

This event will kick off on February 14th and go until February 19th. If you are interested in participating in the discord portion of the event, please fill out the following form and have it submitted to the admins by February 11th.

Hey there dear members and lurkers, Admin Jackie here! I wanted to inform you all that I have a job out of the country that will leave me unable to roleplay or be on the main for the next two months (1/29 - 3/29), so if you don’t see me answering any questions on the main or roleplaying as either of my characters, don’t fret! I’ll be back! In the meanwhile, Admin Zoey & Admin Jo will be around and have some exciting things planned. 

One change that will be made during my absence is that original character applications will be suspended. Reviewing original characters takes all three admins so during those two months we will only be taking canon applications.

TASK #8: Valentine’s Edition

Alrighty members, it’s time for another task! Since Valentine’s is coming up we figured that we would make a Valentine’s themed task. As always, there is no deadline for this task, so do it at your leisure.

For this task, we ask that members make a post that depict what their character’s dating profile would look like. It could include photos your character would use, what type of summary they’d use for themselves, what personality of person they’re looking for/qualities they look for in a person, how they message people online, etc. The sky is the limit!

Unfortunately, not. For picking up first characters, we ask that members create a main blog, but beyond that, second, third, etc. may be sideblogs. This makes it easier to keep track of blogs. But if you aren’t wanting to create a new email, we understand, and here’s a little trick to avoid that with making new tumblr accounts. So for instance, say my email is [email protected]. If I wanted to make a new tumblr, I could use [email protected] and it’ll still send the email to my main account! Here’s a slightly better explanation of that.

We have not! If you’ve submitted an application and it didn’t go through, try sending another one and if you don’t see a change in our application count, send us a message & we’ll get it figured out! 

Of course! Here are a few but feel free to ask us for more if none of these spark your writing inspiration.

Isaac Medina:

You could write about Isaac’s encounter with villains that made him decide he’d never be a hero.

Isaac was a surgeon and loved his time as such, but a tragic injury to his hands caused by an attack kept him from being able to continue on that path.

For his undergraduate degree, he attended Skybourne, so you could write about his first time around at Skybourne.

You could write about Isaac’s first week back, settling back into Skybourne - being greeted by familiar and new faces.

We’re so excited to hear that you’re interested in joining! We’re a fairly active group right now with new posts on the dashboard pretty much every day along with almost always having someone on our discord chat online to plot with!

Our rules allow for characters to be within 5 years +/- the age of the faceclaim. Lana Condor is twenty, but since this is a university roleplay, we’d say that she could play someone between the range of 18-25.

We could see Ginny Gardner fitting as Charlotte Thompson or Natalie Thomas. Or, of course, she’d be welcomed as an original character. Hope this answers your question!

We do currently have 3 graduate student characters in the works but we aren’t quite sure when they’ll be released, hopefully not too far down the road!

Tasks don’t ever expire so new or current members are always welcomed and encouraged to go back through challenges and do them at their own leisure if they feel inspired to!
