I’ve been meaning to do that for a while now. To just sit and talk to you. I guess after everything that happened to us I was just afraid to get close again. Seeing that you’ve been doing better without me makes me feel sick. How can you feel so great if I’m not around? How can you live so well if I’m not here? All I have done during this time away from you, everything I did was to ensure your safe arrival. I just wanted you to feel welcome again, you know? I only wanted to make you feel like nothing had changed for you here. I did all of this while Hell was burning inside of me. It was like my soul was being completely scorched away from my chest. I wasn’t feeling your loving protection anymore, but I kept on going on with everything, just like you would’ve wanted. Tears filled my eyes everyday. My wounds reopened and my core was without a shelter in the wilderness. Everything I did eventually turned to dust at some point and I had to start every little step over and over again. The only thing that kept me going was the memory of you and the promise you made to come back to us. To come back to me again. So now that I can only see your smiling face, tell me, why is it that I only feel pain? What did you endure while I stayed and burned in Hell?
