Recently got “commissioned” (god knows if she is going to pay me) to make some charcoal drawings from reference, so I wanted to test em out and get used to them beforehand. It’s really messy and not the best but I didn’t really spend much time on it in purpose, I just wanted to get a feel for them.

Been getting back into ER after having binged it a few years ago. Carter’s probably my fav character from my fav season so there was really no contest with who I was gonna draw. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go watch this little bastard get emotionally tortured for 12 seasons <3

Sketchbook pg 2 - Backlight

Had a lot of fun with the rim lighting on my last sketchbook page so I thought I would try my hand at some backlighting. I feel like I had the same issue with my white pastel not being able to give me the amount of precision I wanted but c’est la vie, I’m too cheap to go out and buy a white pencil. It turned into more of a self portrait than I wanted but at least now I know that using a reference without copying it is a skill I need to work on. And yes, I did give up when it came to the shirt, I didn’t really care too much there.
