The Russo Brothers explain their reasoning for passing down Cap’s shield to Sam Wilson instead of Bucky Barnes.

“That’s one of the things I miss about theatre. When you get to do theatre, the audience is there! You hear their reactions. You hear how they respond to you. And afterward, they wait for you, you come out, and they meet you. So sometimes you work on these movies and then you don’t have the chance to meet the fans. But at Comic-Con, you do. So you get people’s reactions to this character. And it’s always been gratifying because one thing I’ve always been blown away by is people coming up to me and saying like, ‘You’ve really helped me with my depression.’ Or it’s someone with trauma or PTSD from the war. It’s related to the character. So when they bring that up, it really makes you feel like there’s something very impactful about these films, beyond the entertainment aspect.” 

Hayley Atwell and Zerlina Maxwell bond over the epidemic that is mansplaining. 

“Sometimes I’m just really confused how people are able to be called bright and intelligent when they miss the obvious realities to an action by a brown person. And they’re paying attention to the reaction being done by that of a brown person... has nothing to do necessarily with the reaction. It’s that they’re brown.”

Sebastian Stan felt like he got to see the Gossip Girl craziness from the sidelines. 

“Of course I would jump on that and go for it if that was the decision that was made. But it’s certainly not my decision. I’ve enjoyed every aspect of the character so far that’s been decided for him. And it’s been a lot of fun! Also, it would be a very different take on that character [Captain America]. I mean, that’s how it is in the comic books. The motivations behind Bucky being Captain America are very specific and they’re just different. It’s so much more complex than just asking someone like, ‘Do you want to do it?’ It’s more like, ‘Hey, does this make sense for what we’ve seen so far character-wise, where these people are right now, in their lives, in the MCU?’”

The cast of The Walking Dead got emotional after they announced Andrew Lincoln’s departure from the show. 

“My step-dad was the greatest. That’s really how I learned English, to be honest. I was speaking it with him at home all the time. And then I got to go to this great private school, where I really started acting and where all of these opportunities came. So it was a beginning for me in a lot of ways.”

“I’ll speak especially to this administration. Mike Pence helped funnel money from AIDS research funding into conversion therapy. But it’s so insidious now and so real that there’s actually websites where all you have to do is put in your zip code and it’ll give you therapists. Might not be a camp, but it’s a therapist that’s willing to start the process.”

“I did Rick Perry on Weekend Update, drunk. Do you remember when Rick Perry got drunk? And it was me as Rick Perry. It was the best thing I had done on SNL. I went up there and did it. Afterward, Steve Higgins was like ‘What the hell was going on out there, man? What was that?’ I was like, ‘I’ve been meditating.’”
