When I was diagnosed at age sixteen, after having one period in the eighth grade and then never again till a medically induced one my junior year of high school - my uterine lining measured in centimeters because it was so thick, my mother turned to me in the car. She was upset. Literal tears in her eyes. And she told me her friend had PCOS, but was still able to have kids. That this was still a possibility for me if I did injections and fertility treatments, etc. My mom had never asked me if I wanted kids, she just assumed.

My first conversation about PCOS with my new endocrine/OBGYN was about weight management and how that could improve my fertility when I eventually wanted kids. It wasn't asked what my goals were for my health or if I wanted kids, just assumed.

I was a hormonal, depressed mess. I hated my body. My body dysmorphia was so bad that I cloistered myself away from so much. I wore hoodies and jeans in the 90°F, 80% humidity summers. This was considered fine. I was given metformin and birth control pills and told this was all that could be done. That PCOS wouldn't affect my life until I wanted to be pregnant. I wasn't asked if I wanted to be pregnant, just assumed.

I don't know how many PCOS groups I joined on my early 20s hoping to find community and commonality for body dysmorphia and symptom management, only to be bombarded with fertility treatments and tips and 'inspirational conception' anecdotes. They never asked if I was attempting to conceive, just assumed.

It's a problem. It's been a problem. And thank god I learned to speak up and find medical professionals that would help me with *MY* goals. I shouldn't have had to, someone should have recognized the needs of that sixteen y.o. and protected her, but I can only hope the conversation changes as awareness increases.

audio drama is freaking weird. they're stories more often than not created out of sheer willpower and creative insanity. the storytelling is rooted almost entirely around the strength of the voice acting, writing, and sound design. the characters usually just look however you want them to. they're almost always unabashedly gay. sometimes cecil baldwin and jonathan sims are there.

psych is so funny. shawn pulls gus out of his day job, they walk into a crime scene uninvited, then shawn goes "hi jules! <3", pisses off lassie, looks at stuff for five minutes, touches things in an active crime scene with no gloves, says "bye jules! <3" pisses off lassie again, breaks into someone's home, lies to people, gives gus a stupid name, bothers his dad, lies to the police, solves the entire case, and gets paid, meanwhile gus hasn't been at work for three days because he's been making sure no one punches out shawn's lights

i think we need to normalize more portrayals of autism in characters than “man in headphones who likes planes” and shit. i think the girls are good examples.

zoey is a more obvious case. i think she would have rejection sensitive dysphoria, and was also likely bullied whenever she was younger. “too much, not enough” etc. a prevelant head canon.

rumi, socially deprived homeschooled dork and also autistic loser. she doesn’t know how to people when she meets the girls but she has a very trained public persona. her real self is an awkward loser (affectionate)

mira, who is seen as a “problem child”, “defiant”, etc. can be”blunt, short fused, aggressive”. i really like this hc because it can show that autism can make someone seem blunt instead of just like a crybaby like autistic stereotypes. and it pisses ppl off so good. more for me.

In platform decay there is this scene in the end, when MB and Three meet at the station. MB mentions that Three is wearing “tan pants and a white hooded shirt”. And apparently that makes it look like a company executive. (It makes MB uncomfortable.) I always find it super interesting when we find out those little details about MB’s life in the company.

Three in this company executive adjacent outfit (with a logo that I just made up, it’s supposed to be the company logo. Of course Three’s shirt wouldn’t include that logo, this is only MB’s neural tissue playing tricks)
