they share half a brain cell between the 3 of them
also. i could scream at how real it was when beard said other people in the room might be gay and every. single person. immediately clocked jamie. no hesitation. even ted looks at him. which means that every single one of them at least once has looked at jamie and had some variation of the thought âhuh jamieâs kinda gay. okay thenâ and moved on with no further thought. also jamie was flattered but didnât deny it so imo confirmed bisexual jamie tartt
Good plotwist effect on audience :
"Wait, that explains everything!"
"Of course! Why did I not see that!"
"A-ha! I knew it!"
Bad plotwist effect :
"Wait, what?"
"...that makes no sense."
I've said something similar before: a good plot twist is one where the audience goes "I didn't see that coming and now that it's here I feel like I really should have," and a bad plot twist is one where the audience goes "I didn't see that coming and now that it's here I don't see where it came from."
I think Red Notice does the former very well.
I'm 20 and my fave gen is Black 2 and White 2 specifically.

[First tweet quote-tweets @theIMEU:
Israel is planning to demolish the *only* clinic in occupied East Jerusalem thatâs providing COVID-19 vaccines and PCR tests, leaving thousands of Palestinians vulnerable as a new variant is spreading.
[@BDSmovement:
As a new variant of Covid-19 threatens us all, Israel plans to demolish the only Palestinian vaccine & PCR testing centre in illegally occupied E. Jerusalem.
Throughout the pandemic, Israel has deliberately targeted our healthcare systems, entrenching its #MedicalApartheid. đđž
[quoted tweet]
[Second tweet:
Apartheid Israelâs brutal 11-day bombardment of Gaza in May partially destroyed 84 healthcare facilities, including hospitals, medical centres, pharmacies & Covid-19 testing laboratories: http://mezan.org/en/uploads/files/16261619561305.pdf

[Third tweet:
With a vaccine rollout underway, Israel refused to provide vaccines for 4.5M Palestinians living under its military occupation. Instead, Israel gave vaccines to countries that pledged to move diplomatic missions to occupied Jerusalem.

In March 2020, during the devastating first wave of Covid-19, apartheid Israel destroyed a health clinic serving the vulnerable Palestinian community of Khirbet Ibziq in the occupied Jordan Valley. Â

Israel is in direct violation of Article 56 of the Fourth Geneva Convention which requires that Israel, the occupying power, must ensure that all necessary preventive means available to it are utilized to âcombat the spread of contagious diseases & epidemics.â

Does anyone genuinely call their siblings sis, sister, little/big sis, bro, brother, little/big brother etc. as constantly as this appears to be portrayed in media? Iâm extremely sceptical. Now, affectionally addressing them by something like âslugâ, âtoadâ, âfoolâ, and âbitchâ, or even dare I say it, their gotdamn name, is, from my experience, so much more natural.Â
ok guys, reblog and put in the tag how you name your siblingsÂ
My brother is either "Alex," "Al" or "little fucker."
i was talking to my mom about cardassians and said something along the lines of âwhat must it be like to be a cardassian civilian. like abstractly knowing the rest of the galaxy thinks of your species as âthe evil onesâ and kinda sorta knowing your government runs labor camps and torture prisons and is a military empire, and itâs a huge deal for everyone else in the galaxy, but you just like run a restaurant so itâs not a big part of your daily life, so you just like, go about your day and make soup and donât think about itâ and then halfway through my sentence i actually heard myself and then had to go sit down for like ten minutes. like sat down in a chair and stared at the floor for ten minutes
I'm sure people see this as America, but I can't help but relate it to Britain.
How dare you say I piss on the poor!
I mean okay. Yes it is non-union labour because it's mostly outsourced outside the US (largely to Australia, the UK, Canada, and literally just one studio in NZ, some of those studios will also contract labour from India or a handful of studios around Asia, but the majority of the work on something like the eternals has happened in the aforementioned countries). AFAIK vfx artist in the US are union and that's why they all had thanksgiving off while the rest of us all waited for them to come back online because it was a normal work week for us.
It's non-union but it's pretty decently paid and the working conditions are generally better than on-set crews in Hollywood. Which is a low bar and there's definitely hella problems (80-hour weeks in "crunch times" that end up lasting several months. Also imho the racial pay gap can be verrrryy real in vfx.)
But all to say it's not quite as simple as union vs non-union, doing a suit in full-cg is still stupidly fucking expensive. But the cost is balanced against re-shooting every shot that that character is in. It's not about paying a costumer, it's about doing like 6 months worth of re-shoots.
Honestly to me what it comes down to is this "fix it in post" mentality getting worse and worse the more cgi is capable of, they don't feel like they have to commit to the creative processes on set anymore because hey, we'll just change it if we don't like it anymore.
Which is also combined with these compressed schedules, where directors are being pressured to get shots in the can because the release date was decided before the script was written. Plus they're arguing with studio execs who have way too much creative power the whole time. So you end up with half a film being shot with major creative decisions still up in the air and it's a fucking mess. But hey. We'll just fix it in post.
Add to this: non American does not mean non union. Other countries have unions too, and particularly in the UKs case they are strong entities.
Oh I didn't know that. I worked in the UK verrryyy briefly, and from memory I'm pretty sure I was on contract there too, same as here. Of course idk if UK law differs from nz law when it comes to contractors unionising? It's pretty muddy here because the film industry is an exceptional case wrt contract vs employee law, because of the whole hobbit law thing (which is currently in the middle of being rewritten, to clarify this issue specifically, among other things).
And I have no idea what's up with Canada and vfx worker unions except that I'd kinda assumed that if Canadian film industry unions were stronger than the American ones they wouldn't film so much American TV in Vancouver.
As far as I know, anyone in the creative industries (whether as a performer or behind the scenes) can be a member of Equity.

The theatre ushers guide to bootlegging shows:
Please please don't. We can see you, and we know who you are. You're all fucking obvious, and most of the time the only reason we don't stop you is because we don't want to or can't leave our usher chairs. I have nothing morally against bootlegs but as an usher in a business which has really suffered during this pandemic, I implore you not to try right now. Not yet. And when you do come to the show I work at, I'm so sorry that I have to ask you to put your phone away.

tale as old as time
If they really hated us, they should let us win every year.Â
Apparently this competition is hellishly expensive to host (about ÂŁ20 million, on top of each countryâs entrance fee) and many frequent winners, like Ireland, have been known to self sabotage so they donât have to keep hosting it!Â
Iâm guessing thatâs why Ireland were out in the first round this year.Â
âWeâre not even out of the bloody pandemic yet, the economy has tanked, and you want us to pay 30 million euros to host a singing contest that makes the whole of Europe look like theyâre a sandwich short of a picnic? Not happening. Someone give Jedward a call, we need to lose and we need to lose resoundingly.âÂ
Jedward once ended up on the left hand side in the final, so they probably aren't the people you want to help you lose. May I suggest sending Dustin the Turkey every single year?
HOT TIP!!!
You will drink more water if it tastes good. Iâm dead serious. Throw some mint in there, throw some lemon or strawberry or a little flavor packet. Your brain likes things that taste good.
You know why people like lemonade? Flavored water
You know why people like tea? Flavored water
You know why people like koolaid? Flavored water
People like flavored water. Brains like flavored water. Itâs like being forced to choose between a rock or a rock with glitter on it. You want the glitter rock
I am once again telling you to drink water
And to absolutely FUCK OFF if youâre going to be a dick on this post
Need a vitamin effervescent? Great. Also, the Twinings and Tetleys cold water teabags are miraculous.

Never mind me going back over my copy of House of M, nitpicking it for details relating to Wandavision.
Apparently thereâs drama in the Swiftie fandom because a prominent (?) Swiftie was pretending to be Jewishâtweeting about Birthright, Jewish sleepaway camp, her overbearing mother trying to set her up with Josh Kushnerâand then someone found the Swiftieâs familyâs social media and sheâs MORMON.Â
check out the deets here
the whole google zoo here for these receipts
Let's see where this story goes. Who else here is from the Hamilton fandom and is getting flashbacks?
