for my fellow psychotics who struggle with thinking someone is in their house, a method I’ve found that really works are these guys:
i put them on my front door and anytime it opens they ring. that way if i think someone has broken in or i see someone who isn’t there i can think back to if the bells have rung, and if they haven’t i can assure myself it’s not real. obviously it’s not fool proof, like if you are prone to auditory hallucinations, but it has really helped me calm down in time to avoid major psychotic breaks. it’s a real lifesaver
nonpsychotics encouraged to rb
Nice

Basic Fandom Etiquette Everyone Needs to Remember:
Creators do not owe anyone content. Do not ask writers when they will update.
If an author did not ask for [negative] criticism , do not give criticism.
Read the tags carefully before reading a fanfic.
If you ignored the tags and were upset, that is your responsibility, not the creator’s.
Disliking a ship does NOT give you the right to attack people who enjoy it.
Do not tell authors or shippers that their ship is “disgusting,” “wrong,” or “shouldn’t exist.” Shipping fictional characters is not a moral failing.
No one is obligated to justify why they ship two fictional characters.
Headcanons are PERSONAL interpretations, not universal truth.
Dark themes in fiction do not equal real life beliefs or intentions.
Leaving kudos or short positive comments genuinely matters.
Not every fanwork is made for you, and that is okay.
Scrolling past content you dislike is better than engaging negatively
Enjoying a fandom later than others does not make someone less of a fan.
Disliking a fanfic does not entitle you to announce that to its creator. Sending hate comments to authors is NEVER justified, even if you disliked the work.

Chapter Three
I get home and rush to the door. Only to see my front door is shredded and a note is taped to it. I take a sharp inhale and snatch the note. Opening the barely hanging on door I head in. “Ben? Benny, are you here” I call out, hoping to hear him. I walk the apartment but don’t see him. I give another shuddering breath and look back to the note in my hand. I open it and read it:
Mystic, You really should have thought through telling me your weakness.
You were so easy to figure out. Just so fucking trusting too. You always stopped me when I did anything. But guess what? Now I can stop you. I have your son. If you want to see him alive, give up being a hero. You will never make a difference.
I will always be this way. If you agree to this, text this number (978)628-0936.
I will give you an address to get your boy -TJ
After reading that note, I knew that the signature was forged. Jackal doesn’t talk like this. He also doesn’t use kids as leverage. This feels off. Something is setting off my senses. I go back to the door and focus on it. Maybe my sense will give me something to work with. I touch the door and get a feeling. It is filled with energies that feel familiar but I can’t pin point it. I look to Hex and touch her head as I ask her “What did you see Hex.” The vision I get from her memory is fuzzy. The voice is not very clear but the sound of someone clawing into the door and hitting the barrier is almost echoing in the room. Hex tries to get between the living room and the door, but the person on the other side stops when they can’t break through. I can see a sliver of black and grey between the cracks made. Those are Jackal’s colors but this isn’t his M.O. at all. Maybe I should go meet with Jackal. The spirits around him will give away if he truly had anything to do with it. If they reveal it he’s innocent, then maybe I can have his help to figure out who took my Benny. I change into my Mystic Fox uniform and go to Jackal’s typical territory. It doesn’t take me long to tail him to the clock tower at the edge of town. I step across the air in ripples until I get behind him. “Jackal.” “Mysty,” Jackal teasingly calls me. “Have you been to my domain?” Jackal turns to actually look at me confused. “What do you mean Fox?” I watch the spirits shake their head to say he hasn’t. Sighing I sit beside him, “Someone found my civilian side. They posed as you and kidnapped my son.” I hand him the letter and he reads over it quickly. “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. I don’t mess with kids. I have fucking rules over this shit.” Jackal seethes and grits his teethe. “I know, that’s why I came to you. I trust you Jacks, but I need to save my son,” I say as I remove my mask.
Jackal looks at me as if I have grown a second head. “He-Hey, why are you taking that off. Are you sure you should be doing that?” I nod my head solemnly. “Jacks, I need your help. I need your help finding my son, Benny.” Jackal takes a sharp breath and nods. “Okay... Okay. Then lets start this off right, then. You showed me your face, let me take off my mask, too.” He says as he removes his half mask. He tilts his head in an awkward, yet sad, smile. I reach my hand out and say “My name is Lee Wolfe, I am glad to work with you. Thank you for the help.” He takes my hand and shakes it firmly,” The names James Sciacallo. Pleased to assist you.” After we shake hands we look over the city in a solemn silence. Jackal, James, is the first to break the silence. “So, where will be the best place to start with investigatin’, Fo- er, Wolfe?” “You can still call me by that, Jacks. I know it will be hard to change.” “Right. Right. So uh, where do we start?” “The best place will probably be the scene, my domain. My apartment.”

Within the heart of a Jackal

Masterpost
This is a story based on this prompt
The story follows Mystic fox and his goal to find his son.
Chapter one

Chapter Three
One Case down, Another to go
Chapter Two
"Wake up, Benny," | call to my son. I hear faint grumbling through the door. I shake my head with a slight chuckle. "Be out in ten, you need to eat before school and I have a gig to get to," | say as I walk away to finish up making a simple breakfast of eggs and toast. I plate it and set it at the table, then go to feed Hex, my cat familiar. Checking that the sigil is still intact on Hex's collar | tell her, "Keep an eye on the place Hexie."
Benny comes shuffling into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes. "Mornin' Dad." | stand up and ruffle his hair. "Foods ready Ben. Eat up then we can head out to the bus." He nods and hurries up to eat. Tossing his plate into the sink, he goes and gets his shoes on.
I grab my keys and head to the door. Ben heads out the door first, I follow out but turn to lock the door and activate my protection barrier. I nod in approval and lead Ben down the stairwell.
When we get out of the apartment complex we head to the bus stop. "What gig do you got today, dad," Ben asks curiously.
"Nothing a fifteen year old should worry about," I reply jokingly. Ben rolls his eyes at me and says
"You can just say its a bad detective one, dad."
I smile at him but sigh, "I know, I know. But l'd rather you not have to think about that stuff Benjamin."
He huffs a little at that. "I'm not a little kid anymore. I know there's some bad stuff out there, dad. But I know you help stop it. You're kinda like a ghost hero."
| stiffen at his comment and look around to make sure no one heard Ben. "I am just an Occult Consultant, Benny. I help by just finding clues not so easily seen. If anything I am more along the lines of a Private Detective, bud."
After a few minutes of silence, Benny's bus rolls in. "I love you, Benny. I'll see you tonight," | tell him. He nods and hops on followed by a quick
"Love you too, dad." When his bus pulls off, I walk to catch a cab to the scene I am working, but I have a gut feeling today isn't going to be a good day.
On the scene I immediately see a spirit gripping the cops shirt, or at least trying to. It's a small boy, looks no older than seven. He is clinging to a female officer and tugging at her shirt, begging her to pick him up because he's scared.
I walk up and kneel in front of him. "Hey buddy, why don't you talk to me. Why do you want Officer Emilia to pick you up?"
The officer tenses and goes, "I hate when you do that with no warning." I wave her off and look at the little ghost boy.
He shyly looks at me and mumbles, "She looks a lot like my sissy. I thought she was my sissy." I nod in understanding and ask "Can you tell me your name, bud?"
He fidgets with his fingers, looking between me and the ground. "Sissy said not to tell that to strangers." I look at the officer then back to the boy. "Well, my name is Lee Wolfe. I am a Detective who is working with Officer Emilia. Can you tell me your name so that I can help the officer?"
The little boy thought about what I said for a moment before slowly nodding. "My name is Wesley Meddix." "Wesley Meddix, that's a cool name."
I turn to the officer, "Emilia, the boy's name is Wesley Meddix. He has an older sister who he says looks quite a bit like you," | stop talking to turn back to the boy.
"Why are you scared Wesley?" Gripping his own shirt, he sniffles a little.
"There was a mean man. He told me l was col-colighter-""
"Collateral?"
"Yeah, that word. He said my Sissy owes a lot of money to the sharks. That she knew it was coming. He picked me up and tossed me against the wall. He kept doing it, telling me they warned her. That her rocks better have been worth it. Did my sissy really do this just for rocks?"
"I don't know bud. Do you know your Sissy's name? That will really help us get you that answer," I tell Wesley.
"Her name is Camille. The men called her Cammie," Wesley tells me.
I nod and stand up finally.
"Don't worry Wes, you'll get your peace. His sister's name is Camille Meddix. She had Loan Sharks after her. Said that the last thing he heard was them shouting that her rocks better have been worth it. The boy was just collateral."
Officer Emilia writes down everything that l've told and says "Thanks for the help Wolfe.
Hopefully this will turn something up."
Emilia leaves and the little boy follows her. I check my phone and notice that I had a missed call from the school and a voicemail to call them to discuss Ben. I walk away from the scene and head to the office.
When I get back to my office, I sign in to check my email for any other gigs and call the school back.
"Hello, Draven High. This is Secretary Joni, how can I assist you today?"
"Hi, Its Lee Wolfe. I had a missed call from the school and was asked to call you back over my son Benjamin Wolfe." I hear some clicking of keys and then a tsk or two.
"Well Mr. Wolfe, you have not called to let us know that Benjamin would be late or absent.
We were needing to have that on file if it is a sick day or an appointment to know if it is an excused absence or not." I look at the phone as if it had grown a head,
"Ben was sent to school today. He should have been there three hours ago. Did he not show up?"
"That is why we called. Mr. Wolfe. Benjamin was absent. Do you believe he skipped?"
"No. Today was his favorite class. He would have shown up. I have to go."
I hang up the phone and rush out of the office barely locking it behind me as I go. Hoping he really did skip, I rush to the house.
When you go against the Norm
Chapter one
My name is Mystic Fox. I am being kicked from my Hero Team for not following orders and listening to reason.
It sounds like I am a trouble maker but let me give you a bit of back story so you can see my side of this. I have truly tried to be a hero but I guess it wasn’t enough.
I started out as just an Exorcist for hire. I was a dead consultant. Healing those who missed their loved ones who passed or finding those who were kidnapped. In short, I am an occult consultant. Most just call me Con-Man.
I ended up realizing that I had more power than just communing with the dead. I could summon, cast spells, utilize the artifacts of the occult. I could be something like a hero. Well, I guess more like a protector, a shadow there to defend those weaker.
But the reason why I am in this situation is because I know the universe is not black and white, its more so a world filled with grey. I can see that my rogues are just people trying to survive or just trying to save those that they love.
The only reason I am not going down the path they follow, is simply to keep my sweet son away from this tainted underground. He is such a sweet boy with a smile that just melts my darkened heart.
This is the reason I stop the villains, this is the only reason I am an anti-hero. I am stopping them for a selfish reason, to protect my son. After everything he and I have been through since his mother left, I truly only want to protect him. They know this, but they understand.
We all have something to protect. I tend to sympathize with my rogues more than the heroes who recruited me to their team. I am not much of a fighting type when it comes to my little gallery, simply because I can talk them out of their plans.
We all have a weak spot, and it is so easy to get them to see theirs. The heroes tend to hate that about me, they see villains as this end-all evil. They only see a vicious animal to lock away. Its as if they see anything remotely evil as a lost cause. A being with no humanity.
Silent Wail, Venus Light, The Jackal, are all of my gallery. They are all people and deserve just a bit of kindness and humanity. They have come to be something of a friend to me. I truly believe they are more of a friend to me than my own civilian friends.
I have sat on many roofs with Jackal just to talk and vent of our real lives. We don’t know each others true identity, but we know we both just want a simple break from the pain. But of course my team thinks I’m insane for getting so personal with a villain.
Screaming matches have happened simply because I and a few others have said that maybe we should try and be a bit more humane with the villains we all stop. The main one opposed is our dear leader, FireBird.
He hates that I oppose just locking them up and forgetting the key. He hates that I just try and help them, whether its by getting them therapy, showing them there are programs to get clean, where the soup kitchens are at so they don’t have to steal, or simply that they are not alone. Just being that little bit of positive to someone who may have never had that.
FireBird tries to tell me that the goons, my villains, his villains, will never change. That once evil, always evil. He and I will always differ on this, but this last time I swear FireBird just snapped. And this brings us to the present.
“Get out! Mystic just fucking get out,” FireBird is screaming at me. Everyone freezes at that. All eyes are on us.
“Fire, why won’t you just trust me,” I almost beg him.
He flies into my face, flames flicking around his eyes as he grabs my cloak. “YOU ARE THE REASON. GET OUT BEFORE I MAKE YOU,”
FireBird tosses me towards the door. Silver Song tries to reach for me, but I shake my head at her in warning.
I start walking away and with just one last breath I say “Fine, but you are to stay away from my city.”
You might be a hero, but you have always maintained a rather cordial relationship to the villains. Some of them you would even call friends. So when your child was supposedly kidnapped by one of them you didn't believe it for one second.
So I decided to give this prompt a little try. I might add more but usually I am not much of a story writer. But let me know what you guys think. Hopefully for my first prompt write it wasn't too bad lol.
Finally decided to get back into practice. Decided to turn an Eyeless Jack Sketch Digital <3
