#10 years

10 Years.

Today marks 10 years of posting a new animated GIF every day!

@mrdiv was the one who inspired me to create GIF art in the first place back in 2012, and @pi-slices inspired me to make them every day in 2016. 

This weird art project would ultimately take me down a path I never would have imagined for myself. I’ve made friendships I hope to have with me for the rest of my life. I worked on a movie, my art has been at Coachella, and I collaborated with Apple, PlayStation, and Tiffany’s. I also went to three funerals, had multiple heartbreaks and breakups, and one ER visit. 

Sharing these GIFs every day help me completely reconfigure my relationship to creating. I once thought you had to destroy yourself to the brink of exhaustion in order to prove that you’re a hard worker, otherwise that meant you’re a failure. That couldn’t be further from the truth. What would your art look like if you were actually mentally, and emotionally healthy? I hope it looks something like this. 

I have this deep hunger for creating, and it’s only gotten stronger as this decade has gone by. This passion is something I can only credit to making these loops every day. I can’t wait to see what the next decade will bring, and to be able to share it with all of you. Thank you to everyone who has been along for the ride the past 10 years. This is only the beginning!
