hey howdy how's it going - bit of a life update
I've been off the face of the earth for a while! For the past several months I've been focusing most of my energy on work & building a human from scratch. I'm currently halfway through a pregnancy! Bub is due December 12th!
It hasn't been an easy pregnancy. I conceived twins, but lost one at 9 weeks. That still stings, but it's softened by the fact that the surviving twin is doing great. He's measuring a whole week ahead - he's gonna be a BIG baby. I'm still debating whether or not I'll be posting pictures of him online once he's earthside. We know what we're naming him, but I don't know how much we'll share.
So far, we've learned that he likes Placebo, chocolate chip cookies from Costco, and cats. Whenever one of the girls lays on the bump & purrs, he starts kicking like nothing else. He's strong enough that my anterior placenta doesn't stop him from making his feelings known. It's definitely strange feeling him move around but it isn't as distressing as I worried it would be (at least not so far).
I've wanted to be a parent for so long. It's surreal knowing it's happening, and that time is VERY quickly ticking away. I tested positive way back in April at 5 weeks, and this Saturday I'll be 21. We've already had the anatomy scan and confirmed that he looks healthy. He also made sure to flash us so we could stop debating what we'd name a girl. That'll be a problem for next time, it seems.
Anyway that's where I've been. Making a human is hard work, and my body is definitely not as suited for it as it could be. Between bub's arrival & his eventual sibling's conception, I'd like to get in better shape so I can support the extra work I have to do. I couldn't care less about losing weight, but feeling strong enough to function is definitely a priority. For now though, I'm getting plenty of rest. I'll try to be a smidge more active on here, maybe revive my AO3 account in the process.
Be kind to each other. ❤️🐣
